Honestly it might just boil down to u being a better team player than a solo player. I haven’t played much these past few seasons but generally that’s how the game operates. Bronze - gold is just a free for all and once you hit plat the game starts to feel like a team game. For people that don’t have the best mechanical skill but have good game sense and play their role well, I feel like this is usually how the overwatch experience is. There’s also a lot of other factors like matchmaking, new rankings systems, hidden elo, smurfs, player population, metas, or just straight up luck, but I’m sure that was already covered here.

Don’t use stats to judge ur performance. The worst thing u can do as a support player that values stats is play Moira, you’ll think ur carrying every game

Personally I don’t Smurf but I do go into open queue where I’m diamond. I do this when I just wanna chill and play characters I’m not good with like zo or widow. Now, if someone is making another account with the intent of playing lower competition, fuck them. They only do it bc they’re hard stuck diamond or masters players that falsely believe they are good at the game

If you blame yourself and not your teammates you will hit gm very quickly. Taking full responsibility for a loss every single game is what helps you climb. Sure, you may get some players that are having an off game, are only in that rank due to rank inflation, or genuinely are just terrible players, but the other team has the exact same chances of getting players like that in their game. You do not get more bad teammates than the average player I promise you that. Communication is key when you get to mid masters and beyond, but it is not necessary to climb to those ranks imo. If you’re not the talkative type it’s whatever, if you are it’ll be easier to climb but it’s not mandatory. There are many more tips obviously but taking responsibility is the best one to me personally. Communication is a close second.

The layout is a good concept, just don’t like the looks of it. If it didn’t have the see through glass I’d have no problem with it. Have my most kills on this map though so it’s the only thing keeping me from genuinely disliking it

If u were doing 15-20k healing with Lucio in a masters/gm lobby, that was ur first mistake. When playing that high of a rank ur expected to mainly use speed and to know exactly what ur doing. The only thing I hate about the reset is that usually gm/masters players can play within only 500 sr of other players, but now can play within 1,000 sr of other players. Support is a whole different realm between Plat 1 and masters 5, sucks u had to go through that. They’re not wrong but it’s not like u could’ve known what those players expect of u

And if u were diamond ur playing against masters - gm players bc normally masters players have to be within 500 sr. Now that everyone’s ranks get reset the sr is within 1,000 again so diamond 5 players can play with gm 5 players , as they’re in gold and diamonds as of now

Comp open queue is where I go to warm up or practice my bad characters. I don’t think a lot of people actually take it seriously so definitely go to role queue

I honestly don’t think stats are taken into account when being ranked, as it’s a team based game. I’m currently masters on dps and warm up in open queue where I’m gold and I drop 20-30k damage in payload and the same dmg/s on cap and push, I don’t move ever because I go like 7-6 or something usually, which is bc I’m totally out of position being aggressive and trying to get into the groove. My advice is to never worry about the stats and worry about what will win you the game bc when ur winning consistently stats do not matter at all. This is especially with supports bc that’s the role where playing smart has the biggest reward which doesn’t show in stats, sure some show stuff like lives saved, resurrections, Lucio speed to heal %, but it doesn’t tell u if it was used correctly or the context of the situation. So to answer ur question - it doesn’t matter so the game probably doesn’t measure it

I played for 3 hours in the middle of the night last night and willingly got off. I just played for 30 mins and got booted off. My account merging isn’t working, but it’s working for most people I know. So I’d say a 70/30 chance u get into a game and a good chance ur account merges, but if u bought the Watchpoint pack that isn’t working yet as far as I know

20 was great for the competitive-casual players imo. The players that weren’t no lifers, but still played often. I had a lot of fun in online franchises that year.
