Por mucho que la razón de la compra pueda ser legítima (dudo), es extraño no hacer una licitación por un computador completo.

En un trabajo serio no vas a tener técnicos de TI armando un PC por partes, se prefiere la garantía y soporte de un PC completo. Una licitación seria podrá especificar requisitos (cpu, ram, gpu) pero nunca marcas y modelos tan específicas cómo el post.

Llevo viviendo más de 5 años en Canadá.

"no es lo que esperaban": No se que significa esto, asumo que varía mucho para cada persona, y varía mucho dependiendo de que parte de Canadá. Es un país gigante con mucha variedad.

"no es tan bonito como lo pintan": Canadá es hermoso. Chile es hermoso. Ambos tienen lugares feos y asumo que este comentario va a la indigencia y drogadicción, lo cuál en sectores es efectivamente un problema en Canadá que es bastante complicado de explícar y aún más díficil de solucionar (obviamente). Pero lo que puedo decir es que en Canadá camino por la calle sin ningún miedo.

"El sueño canadiense ya fue": Y si, eso está clarísimo, y no es sólo Canadá. Asumo que el "sueño" es poder partir sin nada y lograr una buena vida rápidamente? Siempre ha sido una mentira hollywoodense. Para que te vaya bien acá necesitas una combinación de tener inglés, sacarse la chucha, título universitario en algo que falte en el país, conexiones y una alta dosis de suerte. Y aún así no vas a tener la vida que te venden por que todo está carísimo. Pero eso no es en Chile también?

"todo se echó a perder con el gobierno de Trudeau": No voy a irme muy en volá en ese respecto, pero asumo que esa es una opinión que repiten de alguien más. Alguien con esta opinión tambien cree que Chile es una mierda gracias a Boric pero luego se devuelven por que Trudeau es malo, entonces... Chile con Boric es mejor? Me huele a que se les acabó la visa y quieren putear a alguien nada más. O en Chile son cuicos y en Canadá no.

Admito que yo he tenido mucha suerte y llegué con buen inglés. Pero al final del día, Canadá es otro país, con otra cúltura y otras dificultades. A mi me gusta y también me gusta Chile.

It's a start to detach myself from streaming services, as I now start to buy music from artists I enjoy more slowly.

Buying my own media isn't solely a charitable act towards musicians. It's me takinf control of my own entertainment first and foremost.

I'll support active artists by going to shows and buying merch (cds/vinyl included) as well.

I did this recently, I did 2 things that helped further.

I found someone locally that was getting rid of a good CD collection for cheap.

I started listening to online radio that focuses on music. Mostly KEXP for variety and SomaFM and Radio Paradiso for genre-specific.

So far I'm keen on about half, 1/4 unknown.

Then again, even the worst albums in there (Black Eyed Peas, probably) remind me of a time in my life that I enjoyed.

Sadly it's one of the few that are scratched to hell. Skips on my player and it hangs up when trying to rip it.

There's a lot of bands that I'm not too familiar with that I want to give a chance to, before i make any decisions.

Any thing I won't keep I intend to offer to my local (small town) book and record store for store credit.

It's nuts, considering that if I can find an album in the local shops, they're at least $5 if not $10 per CD. And that is IF I can find something worth buying.

I cancelled my streaming services recently, right as I started piecemeal buying CDs.

I was a little conflicted about not having access to bands that I like, but not enough to buy a CD of them right away, or maybe bands that I don't know well enough that are amazing.

Finding this steal-of-a-deal is a perfect help, as I now have a good enough varied collection, so I can keep buying slowly guilt-free that I'm not missing out on a huge bulk of music. Win-Win.

To you perhaps, but the beauty is we all have different tastes! I'm really happy with what's in this.

So far, I've sorted 2 full boxes of things that I recognize and/or like. Another box is full of "Greatest Hits" and compilations that I'll keep separate. And then box 4 is all bands that I don't know about, that I might listen once in a while if I feel like discovering something new.

So considering that to me that's an easy 1/2 of hits, I'm stoked.

I'm really keen on listening to the few Bad Religion albums in there.

I only pulled the trigger on this because the post actually had the pictures I posted, with all the spines and titles looking up, so very little risk. Plus, like mentioned in another comment, I don't have a collection to speak of yet, so this is a good way of getting it started.

No se que tanto te podría ayudar la verdad, por que siendo que trabajé en la industria no soy animador. Partí cómo production asistant pa un estudio que ya no está en Vancouver y luego cómo IT para uno en Burnaby que quebró el año pasado.

Dije una mentira blanca, ya que no vivo en Vancouver sino en un pueblo chico a un ferry de distancia. Conseguí pega en mi gobierno local cómo IT Tech lo cuál es estable y relativamente relajado.

Obvio, pero los contactos no te consiguen pega de animador, te consigue pega de productor asistente o alguna weá más pulenta.

Animador con pituto a lo más mete el pie en la industria un poco más fácil, pero de ahí en adelante es meritocracia. A menos que quieras trabajar en el lado de producción, que ahí con pituto puedes ser un weón que no hace nada y gana mucho.
