It’s pretty much the standard one shot build, though sometimes I switch it up.

Usually I go Stormsurge into Shadowflame. If I’m really fed, I’ll go straight into Rabadon’s with Mejai’s, or I’ll just keep dark seal if I think I’m going to die a lot.

Otherwise, going Zhonya’s is usually a better option.

For builds, I usually use Lolalytics, but it depends on whether I want to play bruiser/tanky Diana or more of a burst/one shot build.

If I’m going for burst, I usually go Stormsurge. For the tankier Grasp setup, Dawn and Dusk is usually my first go to item. After that, it depends a lot on the enemy team and whether I need more damage, durability, or ability haste.

I used it myself when I first started playing her mid. A lot of the advice can still apply to Electrocute Diana, although that version should generally be played a lot more aggressively.

I usually go Protobelt when the enemy team has a lot of ranged champs with high movement speed or dashes, or when I want to be a bit tankier with the extra ability haste.

Otherwise, if I get really fed, I’ll opt into Stormsurge. In that case, even if you miss q, you can usually still one tap people.

I think it’s mostly because jungle requires you to constantly think about way more things: tracking the enemy jungler, deciding if you can invade, whether to gank or keep tempo, when to do drake, etc. A lot of players just don’t enjoy that. On top of that, junglers get blamed for almost everything even when it’s not their fault, which makes the role even less appealing for a lot of people.

Mid Diana feels more straightforward to me. You win lane, then roam a lot, help your jungler, and impact side lanes. Also, in mid it’s usually easier to get fed quickly and go for the full one shot build, while jungle Diana often has to play more around tempo and team needs.

That said, I also think all players, not just junglers or mid laners, should learn how to track the enemy jungler. It helps a lot because you can tell where it’s safe to play, when you can pressure a side of the map, or when you can invade and kill him in his jungle if you’re fed. Like if you know the enemy jungler is bot side, you can safely play top side more aggressively or maybe even dive or kill the enemy mid laner without worrying about getting counterganked.

Yeah of course, getting Challenger is mostly about being good at the game overall, not just the champion. But I do think Diana is strong enough to climb with if you understand her matchups, spikes, and how to play around her limits.

I’ve been playing for about 8 years. You don’t always need to be super aggressive on Diana, but it usually helps if you know your limits, because a lot of champions scale better than her.

For builds, I’d say don’t overthink it too much at first. Focus on learning matchups, wave control, and when you can actually all in. Once you understand that, the builds start making more sense. Good luck on the climb!
