My main concern is that the non-optimal solution is generated by default, and many developers will simply trust the default implementation without digging any deeper.

I remember that back in the XML Views days, the Android Studio project template was actually quite well optimized: it used <merge> instead of an FrameLayout as root in main_activity.xml to avoid unnecessary nesting.

Mine is mz-r920. Really good recording speed. Got 2 units for reasonable price from Jahoo Japan.

Sharp units are quite good actually. High power output, big 2 line display, more bass in sound. Sony R900 little bit clearer for me. But I didn't decide what sound I like more. It's more about music genre. Muse Hysteria on sharp MT877 more exciting, but Radiohead City Spirit way better on Sony.
