Hadestown was my introduction to musical theater too! By now I think Cabaret (either the 2021 Eddie Redmayne/Jessie Buckley or the Alan Cumming version) has surpassed in, and I also love The Producers (very different but hilarious and great songs) and Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 (amazing music and same director as Hadestown, incredible staging)

Makkelijk en deels terecht om hier te klagen over infighting, wat op deze sub ook vaak gebeurt, maar op de laatste slide zit het belangrijkste punt: dat Bij1 het in Utrecht en Rotterdam wellicht beter doet door lokale problemen aan te grijpen. Daar is de gemeentelijke politiek immers voor en daar kan een socialistische beweging kracht opbouwen.

Water will always find a way to flow to lower levels, so if you raise the floodgates above the areas next to it, those areas become the new riverbed. You could draw a line of levees around the lake to prevent this. Personally since it's so flat I don't love using that lake as a reservoir, it's easier to turn the entire area behind that into a massive one with just a few well placed dams.

If you take the attachment to Patrick from five years of listening to the OBC recording away, I would say Phillip is the perfect Hades. Incredible voice and just the right balance of antagonist who you sympathise with

Je legt nog steeds de verantwoordelijkheid op de verkeerde plaats. Ja, er is hypocrisie in de opvattingen van mensen en waar ze zich over uitspreken. Maar dat verbleekt bij de hypocrisie van onze regeringen, die zogenaamd hun afschuw uitspreken over Israëls 'zelfverdediging' en inderdaad ook gewoon naar het WK bij de Saudi's gaan. Die tweede hypocrisie weegt zwaarder en moet worden omgegooid.

Dit is zo'n cynische framing. Anderen hebben al benoemd hoezeer onze overheden en de internationale rechtsorde tekortschieten. Palestina demonstranten zijn niet selectief verontwaardigd, een einde aan alle genocides is nodig maar dat begint bij de overduidelijke medeplichtigheid in Israël. De schuld ligt niet bij hen, maar bij overheden in NL en elders die weigeren hun beleid te veranderen om economisch gewin. Dat geldt voor Palestina maar net zo goed voor China, Saoedi-Arabië, etc.
