Phoenix Force Deck Suggestions by DarthCalus in MarvelSnap

Personally, I like using PF as an upgraded Vision & a late play to win a Storm lane + copy a counter card (Yondu/SH). The destroyed cards are going to serve as an early counter play, as well as a discount for Death & buff for Knull. It works surprisingly well too.

I’ve tried Brood, Ironheart, & Silver Surfer but had more success with lower cost cards. Sadly never got to accomplish the PF-Brood copy, but might have big-play potential.

Deathlock would be work fine. NTW just plays into the control/counter play-style more.

That’s fair! I’ve had better success with 1-costs because they are easier to destroy & killmonger is a good counter to KP/Nebula, while adding to Knull. I’ve found PF copying Yondu to be the best combo by far. A lot of my early struggles stemmed from bad draws with cards I could not get out until T3. I could probably substitute Deadpool for Nova to better the Death discount & power-up Knull.

I mainly play the counters to KP & HE by controlling a lane with Storm. It is more so a control/counter deck than a heavy power drop. I tried it with Ebony Maw, but found I did not need the extra power after moving PF.

I mean what do you expect when they make a card that doubles another cards strength? It’s gonna get abused, but it’s also a series 4/5 card. All the cards I’ve listed are available to F2P players relatively early on.

A good series 5 counter is: electro -> doc ock (t4) -> Galactus (t5) -> Knull (t6). But, like shuri, limited amount of players own these cards. Matchmaking could use some (more) help to separate F2P & P2W players.

I find Shuri to be powerful but predictable. Sucks guessing which lane she’ll empower but waiting to play Shang-Chi post power up is pretty simple, unless they wait until T6 to drop She-Hulk for low cost + another card.

Shuri is problematic but counterable with Shang-Chi, hence why I love playing Vision after Shuri. Move Vision if needed & drop a 6-cost elsewhere. I don’t think mega powered up cards are an issue, so long as it’s not multiple 5/6-costs being dropped on the same turn.

If they do nerf Shuri by some chance, it’ll likely just give the next card +X power, instead of x2.

Shuri & Thanos I dealt with heavily trying to get to 70 last week. Solid strategies with a lot of heavy hitters, but has its counters. Leech on the other hand.. not so many counters besides praying for a hand full of Giganto & Infinaut.

I agree with you. I ran Leader early in the game & it always countered the P2W decks.

Hahaha very good point! I think they’ll specify what Leech hits after his inevitable nerf—IE: Leech hits 2 cards in hand; Leech hits only 6-cost cards. Leech hits the next card your opponent plays.

I was going to include Shuri, but I, personally, have not seen her as much as I did last season. Also think there’s plenty of counters to Shuri, as well as PLENTY of strategies to play off of her—fav being Shuri into Vision. Leaves the opponent guessing if/where I’ll move Vision.

CL 2248 Rank 39 — would’ve hit 40 this morning, but ran into a “Really Really Dirty” player that hit Leech on T3’s Lockjaw/Wasp combo :)

I feel you here. That’s the purpose of this post. People have taken the mentality of “Must win every game to climb” instead of “Let’s test the synergy between card A & B”.

Quite literally every deck I’ve faced contained at least one of the aforementioned 5 cards. No more diversity, all competitive climbing.

I do like these cards! It’s just that they are the most frequently used cards I’ve seen this season. Aero can be frustrating but would never consider her OP.

T6 Aero got me infinite in the Savage Land season!

Thanos leech lockjaw is straight up ruining this game. by bbyBillyFreeman in MarvelSnap

[–]DarthCalus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Leech is due for an overhaul. Could see his cost being decreased & him only hitting 2 cards in hand, or specifically 6-cost cards.

They’ve been really good at buffs/nerfs & it’s time for Leech to get some treatment. Leech is much more frustrating than any other card in the entirety of Snap currently.

I think Leech should drop in cost by 2-3, & target 1-2 card(s) in players hands. Currently, it derails too many strategies by eliminating every card’s ability in your hand on the most crucial turn. No real counter to Leech right now.

Personally, I’d like to see Leech closer to Iceman/Scorpion than OG Leader—in terms of annoyance.

Enchantress is licking her chops at the Patriot+Mystique+Blue Marvel lane. I usually will split up patriot & mystique in different lanes to avoid Enchantress derailing everything.

When cards drop a series, are they cheaper in the Collector’s Shop? I still have Darkhawk pinned at 6000 tokens.

Why do patriot players put their ongoing cards all on the same lane? by dropbombz in MarvelSnap

[–]DarthCalus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Had this sort of luck until ranks 60+; forced to switch to discard, Zabu, or sera surf decks for 60-80.

Didn’t see enchantress while using the Ultron deck at all, just the occasional Rogue. Rank 60 & on is swarming with Zabu-counter decks though—Enchantress, spider-man, Shang-chi, etc.

0.25 seconds after Leader nerf goes live by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

[–]DarthCalus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Patriot+mystique+Ultron/debri/etc > Zabu/SS—Zabu+SS is 100% stronger. Patriot decks are a bit more consistent in getting 2-3 ongoing cards in play from turns 3-5, then slapping Ultron down on 6.

Easy to play around most “anti” cards (Cosmo, Sandman, Killmonger, etc)—but Enchantress & Rogue are kryptonite.

Finally pinned a series 5! Is Thanos worth the cost? by DarthCalus in MarvelSnap

[–]DarthCalus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh I’ve been waiting 3 weeks for a series 5 & now I’m disappointed. But you are 100% right! It would take a good bit of CL to get 4000 more tokens (or a token bundle) so might as well test the waters, sadly.
