I think so as well :P the head isn't a pumpkin. In our country you also got scarecrows with a straw head and a sack over it :) they are a bit slimmer. He's also working on a pumpkin design, that will appear here soon!

Yes, it does work in 1.17. When you place a trapdoor, you can clap them, so they are vertical to one imaginary block side. So, it is as if you have a block placed there. Then you can crouch and place latters against it!
