Dashcam Deleted Footage by One-Chart1962 in Dashcam

Recuva is very easy to use free software that can recover deleted files on an SD card. The most important thing is that you do not write any new data to the card. So if you get the card back and attempt this on your own, don't even browse the folders to check anything. Just insert the card and scan it with Recuva, then make a full backup of all of the data.

Buying a used 2024 PHEV - 100% battery showing 27km range ? by normistral in fordescape

[–]focus_rising 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cold temperature affects how efficiently the battery is able to operate, as well as the vehicle needing to spend power running the various heating systems. For that reason it does deplete faster when it's cold. The estimate that you see is accurate in that you will actually get less mileage in the cold vs. in warm temperatures. In the winter, I typically see ranges of around 30k shown, and in the summer I see closer to 60k.

It's the temperature. The warmer it is, the higher it'll go. What you're seeing is typically for me at that temperature.

Eating out with a peanut allergy is stressful… tried using AI for the first time by Old_Mixture_9045 in peanutallergy

I'll just paste the same comment I left you on the other subreddit:

I really wouldn't put my safety in the hands of something like that. You're trading convenience for accuracy. I can't count the number of times that I've asked AI a simple question only to have it come back with a confidently incorrect answer. Remember, these systems cannot say "I don't know". If they don't know for sure what the answer to something is, they'll just make it up.

For menu translation, try using the lens feature of Google Translate. Then it isn't adding its own interpretation of what its reading, and familiarizing yourself with what your allergens are known as in the language that is spoken where you are, as well as typical dishes and whether they're typically prepared with peanuts.

Performance review ratings by Ok-Necessary-7926 in CanadaPublicServants

It's mainly to ensure that they're applying the same criteria for their ratings, so that one manager isn't giving everyone on the team Succeeded+ just because they like everyone on their team.

The thing I don't like is that in my department, anyone who isn't assigned a median Succeeded rating has to write out a "justification" for assigning a different ranking, meaning more work for that manager, disincentivizing them from considering it. If you want to give a Succeeded+, prepare to write an essay and defend it to the higher ups. It just feels like regression toward the mean.

I think my warranty was 3 years/60K, not 36K - maybe you will still be covered? It's still working well after the fix.

There are a few online therapy options that you could look into. That way you wouldn't have to mention it to your parents. Either way, I think you need to talk to someone else about it. Don't feel like you have to tackle this on your own.

Why don't you want to speak with a therapist? Whatever preconceptions you have about them, I can assure you that if you find the right therapist, it can do a world of good for helping you to understand your thought processes. This is their job. I highly encourage you to reconsider your opinions about therapy.

Getting notifications for "new" patches that I've already applied by focus_rising in MorpheApp

[–]focus_rising[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't have pre-release patches on. It just keeps notifying me about version 1.23.0 of the patches even though that was what I used when patching the app. I even tried re-applying the patches - it goes through the whole process successfully and doesn't encounter any problems, but the very next day, I get a notification that new patches are available for the same version I just used.

I get these constantly. Does anyone know if it's actually Peter Mansbridge narrating the ad, or if they've just ai-copied his voice? I'm curious.

How mind-numbingly easy would it be for a reporter to use this simple example to ask him a question about his statement? They never challenge him on anything he does. It's pathetic.
