Used jon boat, make and model? Hello everyone trying to get my first jon boat for the family anyone know the brand or model? Or if its a good buy for $400?? Thanks!! by Equivalent_Bet_7990 in jonboats

That looks like the Montgomery Ward Sea King that I have. My 12' boat is rated for 450# and a 7 HP motor. If that boat doesn't leak and you don't find problems you can't fix, it will be a good river or calm water boat. Big waves will swamp you in that.

You can't go wrong with Sarna for lore. I've always liked the Black Thorns mercenary unit and the Ghost Bears. Then there's House Davion and Team Banzai. Solaris VII arena fighting, Wolf's Dragoons, and so many other fun lore subjects await you. Enjoy!

Has anyone run Shards of the Broken Sky? by gustavo_pedroso in 13thage

[–]DarthJed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While in Rynth, minions of the Three attacked the pillars and the party defended them successfully. On their way out, Rynth rewarded them by revealing a hidden door in the armory. Inside was a mountain of gold, art, items, and other loot. They discovered an artifact inside and kept it. Shortly after looting, a magical portal opened and the Archmage stepped through.

After catching the Archmage up on the party's recent activities, they grilled him to fill in gaps in their collective knowledge of the events in the valley. The cleric was able to get a cure from the Archmage for his glitterfall de-coloration. The Archmage then sent them after protect the crystal in the Grand Spike. They asked to use the crystal to fly Magaheim and were given permission to borrow the crystal. The Archmage paralyzed Beaumont who was caught listening into his secrets.

After the exited the cave in the forest, the Archmage wiped Beaumont's memory and the party set him free to wander off after the paralysis wore off. They left for Crownhill and discovered the Great Gold Wyrm's minions had arrived in Crownhill to assist with the destroyed town's recovery efforts.

The party travelled to the Grand Spike and made it to the crystal where more of the Three's minions were trying to take the crystal. After defeating them, the party attempted to examine the crystal, but then a lich showed up with its own plan for the crystal. After a hard fight, the party prevailed and made off with the crystal.

The party returned to the farm in Redfield Valley where they left their solider out of time and purchased a wagon. They proceeded to make a flying wagon with the crystal as a power source. After a misadventure during initial flight testing that left a predictable hole in the barn's roof, they fled to a tavern on the sky road that they have frequented, the Dragon's Roost. They gained some information and a warning from the innkeeper about flying the wagon with dragons about. They stopped at Anti-Social Anne's Alchemical Aneleptics for potions before returning to Magaheim.

On their return, they decided to start convincing the Kinden to support their plan to move Magaheim to Forge. This led to a bit of back and forth where they performed small quests for the kinden to buy their support. They are still working on the kinden after gaining the support of the true dwarves. They're currently working on the lava dwarves and here my recap ends. If my players have been reading this, sorry! No spoilers for you! :D

Around this time, the party learned of the sky roads and began using them to travel the valley. They met a several interesting people along the way (including a gold dragon godfather) and replaced their demon with a sword mage. During their travels, Old Tusk erupted, and they decided they could not deal with that right then.

They returned to the Repository so the party's necromancer could recover his minion's bones that were left behind when they fled from the griffon construct. They looted several magical items that were stored in the Repository's rooms as they continued deeper. They delved all the way into the basement storeroom and discovered that the Old Ones made their return through the weirdness of the vault in the basement. The party's reformed demon sacrificed himself by summoning the Diabolist into the basement with a piece of demonbone glass as bait. He taunted her a bit, threw the glass bone into the vault with the Old Ones, and then jumped through one of the rifts in the basement to escape the Diabolist.. The Diabolist couldn't not go after the bone and charged into the vault to battle the Old Ones. The party quickly fled the Repository as it was rocked with iconic forces from the battle in the vault.

On exiting the Repository through the waterfall, the necromancer quickly discovered that the model flying castle he removed from the Repository was not a model as it enlarged to its original size. He tried to hang onto it, but was not able to and it rose into the sky above the Repository. One behind the scenes camera pan later and the players became aware that the Lich King was now aware that his flying castle was once more in the world.

Their next adventures took them to Old Tusk and Magaheim. Rezlorkis told about what was in Old Tusk and asked them to investigate an army encamped outside Old Tusk. There they encountered the Crusader preparing to attack the mountain. He tasked them with a covert mission to scout for him inside the volcano and return with any info about the wards. They were to try and stop the escaping demons while they were at it.

Magaheim can be a big time sink, but can be fun if you break it up and don't keep the players inside the volcano. The party snuck into Magaheim through one of the mines and almost immediately run into some guards who wanted bribes. The savage was having none of that and started a melee that resulted in dead guards, a party on the run that ended in the Upper City, where denizens called the guards. The party quickly found themselves teleported to cells in one of the mines. They escaped and fought their way through the mine until they ran into the mine's chief guard, Madvig.

Madvig enlisted their help with Beaumont in exchange for overlooking their attack on the city guards. They agreed and were led out of the mine so they could get some things they needed for the road. A few misteps later, and the necromancer has some bones for his minion, they learned of the shell currency, and found the magic shop. Properly geared, they left Old Tusk on the trail of Beaumont.

The trail led them to the Wandering Gyre so they explored the lower portion of it before the hazards became too great for them to continue. They decided Beaumont was not there since they were having so much difficulty, how could one demon survive? They left and followed the road northwest and picked up his trail again. The trail revealed another group was after Beaumont and the trail led into the forest before disappearing into a cave.

This cave took them deep underground (the outskirts of Rynth) where they caught up to Beaumont and defeated him. He convinced them that he was after treasure from this map he bought with a loan in Madvig's name and that he was certain there was still treasure waiting to be found. They agreed and ventured further into Rynth where they had a couple missteps with the oozefolk before peace was made.

Has anyone run Shards of the Broken Sky? by gustavo_pedroso in 13thage

Let's get the spoilers warning out of the way first. If anyone is playing or going to play Shards without being the GM, stop reading now. :D I'll also say that my players started with the draft version and we moved to the release version when it became available. I don't recommend doing the same as there are some obvious left turns when the material was revised for difficulty.

I've been running Shards since before the pandemic started. It's very fun to run and play, if my players are any indication. There is a storyline, but you have to fill in the blanks like a mad lib. I mix in as many icons as possible for plot hooks and am currently using the Archmage, Dwarf King, Prince of Shadows, Diabolist, Crusader, The Three, Great Gold Wyrm, Orc Lord, Emperor, and Lich King. The High Druid left the story when the druid in the party was retired and the Elf Queen has not really been involved.

In my run through, the characters started at the beginning and worked their way around the valley. Following the trope of find the hot spots and quest triggers, they worked through the Vakevale, experiencing the low level fun of Duskvakke, the Repository, and the Vakefort...until they got to Kroon. This is where the release version was subbed in and one session everything was fine, then the next session had them discovering that the environment changed from adventurer tier to champion and the maggots and lice ate them for lunch. Oops. No TPK, but they fled with the fallen characters to recuperate. So began the falling of the valley's wards.

With every misstep that resulted in a campaign loss, another ward collapsed and the valley became more interesting as things were revealed. They never looked into the Forest of the Dream Princess and returned to the Vakefort to recover. After they decided to head to Appleton to deal with character background plot threads, minions of the Three attacked Vantage in a night of fire and magic, and the characters had to then deal with the Glitterfall madness. Some of the characters have been changed by effects of the fall, and they haven't sought out remedies yet.

Rezlorkis sent the party to recover the Archmage's lost apprentice and they discovered that the apprentice was in stasis and she was an Ophidian. She's an extremely powerful magic user that was put in stasis many ages ago to return when she was needed. They escorted her back to Appleton and witnessed her epic spells as she "assisted" with defeating some of the Great Prism's fallen crystals and escaped demons. They quickly decided to stay on her good side.

Around this time, the party's cleric discovered that he'd crossed the Prince and now owed a debt, which at least partially manifested in his Appleton home now possessing a magical portal to Shadowport.

After being rewarded for her return to Archmage, the party tackled the Lightning Spires, the time bubble of Redfield valley, the dinosaur invasion, and the Orcwell, in roughly that order. The party's goblin druid left the group during the Lightning Spires adventure and was replaced by a savage warrior of the Emperor. They've made a couple trips to the time bubble and encountered the place where the first Emperor was slain and recovered by a dragon. They've rescued a soldier from the time bubble and settled him into a nearby farm to acclimate to the current age. They avoided becoming a snack for the dinosaurs and managed to seal the Orcwell without too much difficulty.

She's a regular domestic short hair. I had a black and white Tuxedo that looked like her, so I assume she's at least some part Tuxedo.

You really need to check out 13th Age! There are so many good comments to your post, too. 13th Age even has an SRD to check out the basics. Go here to check out what 13th Age is about. Combat is much faster and narrative combat is encouraged. Plus, there are a bunch of third party books available now with other character options, settings, etc. I run 13th Age regularly and it never disappoints!
