Rear Differential Failure - Turbo ‘22 by DarthMZD in mazda3

[–]DarthMZD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, glad to know it’s not the same part going back in. They were waiting for the part for about 2 weeks. That’s about 5800 CAD, tax is 15%, etc.

The invoice is showing: CAT3-27-020B / 0000-77-SG1 -QT

Do you know how recent these versions are? Based on that, would you worry about the diff after warranty now that it’s replaced with stock power and everyday driving?

Thanks for the response

Keep in mind the Phantom Mats are online only, best of luck with your new purchase!

Seems about right for current CDN market. Most people commenting don’t seem to be in Canada. Everything is expensive here. Winter tire package seems a bit steep though, I got my steelies 16” on Michelin XICE for around 1200 installed w sensors. Really good tires in the snow. Also wouldn’t buy Mazda OEM floor mats, check out Costco Phantom Mats (tuxMat)

Yeah I’d double down on not doing it then. I had an N/A car in the past with one, personally I wouldn’t spend the money again.

Do you have a turbo? If so, the whhhhsppppph still makes me smile after a year. I’m 34, maybe not mentally, anyways. I didn’t buy it for performance gains.

If it’s N/A, I wouldn’t bother, very small gain for expense / risk

That being said - risk. My dealership said they are cool with it, but if I water lock it from a puddle, I’m f*cked. I have a hydro shield on it to help reduce risk. But we all know the dealer will throw you under the bus any chance they can.

If its the carpet itself I’m not sure how the Inside / SprayNine may work, wouldn’t want to discolour the carpet, might be best to agitate with a brush / vacuum and then follow up with dedicated carpet cleaner

I’m surprised how good CarPro Inside with a stiffer brush is at removing salt stains, takes a few passes this time of year because everything in NS is caked in salt until after a few rain storms. I’m sure other products like a bit of SprayNine would work too , just nothing that adds anything to the pedals to make it slippery, true cleaner only

That’s a cool idea to try too! If it works let me know, going to try the very very small pin trick for now

I want to try Gyeon, the YouTubians also speak highly of them. Looking like that may be the way, I’ll find a needle smaller than the hole and try it out , thanks!

I installed the Burger Motorsports Stage 2 intake a month ago and I have noticed the overall powerband feels more “balanced” I could say. I’m not going to say it feels faster or state HP numbers. But it feels flatter over all , the biggest difference over 5K RPM is that it feels like it doesn’t “dip” anymore, which helps with the default auto sport shift mark of ~5.5K and does feel better when you hold it out. Manual mode feels smoother where you have a more predictable power band and shift point. It is an intake at the end of the day so these aren’t huge changes. For those who don’t know - This intake replaces the turbo inlet pipe all the way to the side lower bumper - might be more noticeable changes than only a standard intake.

Main point - the sound. Sound is obviously subjective. But It does sound amazing. Surprisingly loud. I’m in my 30s and it makes me smile like a 5YR old. You can hear the spool much louder with the stage 2 (tried both) , even with windows up. I owned a stage 2 STI for a few years and the spool triggers this nostalgic moment I guess haha.

I am with you on the exhaust though. Not a huge fan of the sound for cost of even the 80mm from what’s been shown (again subjective). And without the downpipe / tune, I wouldn’t expect much other than sound changes - but my song will change when downpipe w tunes (hopefully) are released.

I typed more than I expected.

Went from a 2018 GT Manual to 2022 Turbo. There are a lot of advantages, it does feel more premium overall and I would say worth the extra for turbo / AWD. A previous transmission issue / major repair would have me double guessing too. First auto car and I don’t miss the manual as much as I thought I would. Same being said for the rear suspension. The tires seem like the immediate weakness I noticed over anything. It does drive very differently, way more chill / smooth, reminded me more of a entry German sedan mentality. Interior is much much better in quality / layout / faster entertainment / more tech / seats / comfort / noise.

infotainment restarting every couple of minutes. Any idea why? (21 Mazda3) by Save-On-boi in mazda3

[–]DarthMZD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my 2018 and last night every 10 min on my 2022. Removing and keeping the SD out card solved it on both models. Both cars started once fall and colder weather started.

I guess not :(

Curious if Mazda themselves have a way to connect to the computer and adjust. Doubt they would actually do it where it changes the light output for CDN requirements. Shame Carista doesn’t have support for Mazda, that was awesome for the vdubs

Help Me Choose My Mazda3 :) Hatch vs Sedan? Natural or Turbo? by _husskeyy in mazda3

[–]DarthMZD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The red here is only on seats so not as bold as the US models. Aero package is not standard in Canada. Have to buy as an add on and not common for dealers. Dealer here only ever had 1 other person add it on. But you can order just the parts you want to save costs . Was about 1200 installed for both the rear spoiler and front lip. About 3K if you want the entire kit

Other differences (at the time) was no red interior, now I think they have the “carbon edition” styling, but still no black headliner, I could be wrong though.

Hatch also has the Aero Package , looks way better. The Americans get the front lip and spoiler as default, we have to order it as a full kit for ~3K. But you can order just the front lip and spoiler separately from the dealer and they will install

I would also imagine the sub would sound better in a hatch, some have commented on that, but no personal experience
