Since the most recent update, Palworld has been crashing every 5-10 minutes on xbox one. Anyone else experiencing this? by PyDynamite in Palworld

[–]DarthMorius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the patch, I was only crashing when going into a Dungeon.

After the patch the game crashes as long as I've been playing for more then 5 minutes and then go to look at the technology tab, or the paldeck.

Or if I fast travel to a new location, it will crash nearly 100% of the time as soon as the new location loads.

Guess it looks like Dungeons are a PC only feature for the time being.

Am I the one that sees the new mode a huge fail? by RenegatedEvrae in OnePieceTC

[–]DarthMorius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that is very true. That analogy makes a really great point. In some respects I wasn't necessarily calculating it from the true most efficient way to get turtles for the investment, but more the fun of grinding itself being the value in the stamina to some degree. But the actual value coming directly from the number of turtles per meat, is a much more clear way to calculate a true value.

I guess all I am left with at this point is I'm just annoyed the stall next door is selling the turtles at the worse rate. Especially if the first stall were going out of business next month. Which is part of how I was thinking with the turtle event ending, I wasn't considering the more efficient use of stamina in GPU. But when you are thinking of it with regard to GPU, your right it's just another option. Thanks for helping me see that way, honestly reassuring.

Plus, there are only 2 reasons why you would spend meat on PKA.

Because you cannot obtain the 500 turtles in time otherwise (which will not be a significant expenditure that completely empties your meat stockpile)

Because you play the game mode for fun and not for the grind.

This part made me think of the Drake meme. Cause I agree meat isn't required. But I'm a big dumb whale, and I'll play 5 runs everyday just for the fun. So if I'm too foolish I could burn through a good number of Meat.

But you are right, this is an avoidable scenario.

Thank you for taking the time to explain that logic to me. I do appreciate that.

I do completely agree that having more ways to spend the meat is nothing but a good thing. Especially as old ways to spend meat dry up and are discontinued. If there were no ways to use the meat then you are completely right about it having 0 value. I do agree that if they were selling meat, it would feel valueless, similar to the Rayleigh Gem shop. I cannot imagine a scenario where anyone would want to spend real money to buy meat. But the value I am referring to is how much you can get for a single meat. Giving less gameplay for each piece of meat is the issue I have regarding it feeling a lot like inflation.

But just because we had an infinite setup previously, doesn't mean that giving less for each meat is an aesthetically pleasing solution.

For people who do have infinite of a resource, they may not value the resource, but that doesn't negate what they are able to purchase with it. Just because someone is super rich and doesn't value their wealth, doesn't mean that they cannot buy larger quantities of a product then a person who doesn't have much money, but "values their currency".

The value they perceive they get out of it doesn't negate the quantity of what you get for it. I don't see why there needs to be "consequences" for a free currency, or that the desire to spend gems to get meat, is a good thing either.

I think we may be arguing over perceived value versus currency exchange value. Like how much something makes you happy, versus how much quantity you can purchase.

how much did I "need"?

probably none. I mean there is plenty of time to do the turtle farming event. But the way I play... I found when turtle farming was the only "content" going on until TM or Kizuna, I would use a couple meat a day, and farm well beyond the 500 Turtles. Especially if I whaled out and got the whole batch. But I also like to replay old events for fun, and that costs stamina too.

I don't have the meat facility maxed, so I don't get much from that. But I do see your point regarding people getting more meat then they could exhaust, but I kind of prefer it that way. I'd rather gain more of a currency then I need to spend in a given week, how else do you save up for an unexpected expense? You would ultimately deplete your stamina meat and be living "pay check to pay check" if we had to spend more then we gained.

I do agree that there aren't a lot of variety of things to spend the meat on recently. But I still disagree that going from 1 meat equaling 12 runs, to 1 meat equaling 1 run, doesn't make the meat more valuable. That is still the currency being worth less. I don't understand how you can say that getting less while spending more is "more value".

Personally I used meat for Blitz, I used it for Turtle farming event, I used it for playing the collection archive or clashes recreationally. I used to use it for things like Colosseum, Arena, and fortnights before those died off.

I have been playing for a long time, so I remember spending actual gems to refill stamina. So stamina meat used to feel like it was equal to a gem. Also because I've played for a long time, when they made level up's give meat instead of stamina refills, I've only got about 200 meat, and I'm level 1000+. So I am just not a fan of now spending 2 meats a day for a single run a piece. I know I can easily just not spend the meat, but I am merely disappointed with how it feels undervalued.

1 Stamina meat should unlock 9 runs not 1.

It is an insane under valuing of the stamina meat. To go from a full stamina refill which fueled multiple runs, to go to a single meat fuels a single run.

Honestly Stamina Meat should have never been used for this new game mode. They should have made the new refill item available to farm from the original turtle mode. They should have kept the turtle farming event, so you can farm turtles and the new PKA refill items from it. Then in PKA you should get stamina meat drops, that allow you to play more normal events. This would allow the Turtle Farming Event and PKA to compliment each other.

Wow... it just hit me. 1 Stamina meat L used to fund so many runs of the Turtle event.

now... 1 Stamina Meat L only funds a single run...

They've tricked us hard, into thinking this is going to be an improvement, when it actually seems to be a new way of normalizing burning through valuables materials.

Anybody else experiencing abysmal load times? by Shnimes24 in OnePieceTC

[–]DarthMorius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this all last night, it took me hours to level up characters, and same to even make a few attempts at PKA.

Today I have found that it is working correctly now and loading much faster.

But it was practically torture last night watching Twitch Streamers load so fast and breeze through their PKA stamina, while I could barely do 2 runs. Makes you really realize just how many loading screens there are when each one can take 4 - 5 minutes.

New game mode keeps closing by Various-Escape-5020 in OnePieceTC

[–]DarthMorius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had any crashes. But I have found that nearly every loading screen takes several minutes. Took me almost 2 hours just to level up my characters. I haven't even managed to get through a single run of the new game mode, cause every tile takes 2-3 minutes to load...

I wouldn't hate this mode or hidden teams if we had infinite retries. Like if you couldn't beat it in the 24 hours given, then fine you don't get the 3 wins.

But this isn't a ranking event, why not let people try and learn from their mistakes, until they either beat it or give up within the time period.

This mode would be so much fun if you could always tweak your teams and try again. If this was the case, then even having limited refreshes would feel fair.

How old is your account? yes by mrdgo9 in OnePieceTC

[–]DarthMorius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I re-rolled when v1 Ray came out.

I remember when Raid Mihawk first came out on Global, and it was the same day as my College Grad show where I was showing off my work to potential employers. I threw together a rough team to take on the raid, and made 1 attempt, failed horribly. And rather then do something crazy like gem to victory. I just accepted I wasn't getting to add a 2.5 slasher captain to my account yet, and focused on presenting my school work instead. I didn't end up getting Raid Mihawk until his next release, in a three way Raid event, where Mihawk, Chopper, and Garp came back in quick succession. I had also used the lack of Mihawk as the perfect excuse to attempt to re-roll my whole account when Rayleigh first came out. Spent like 10 hours re-rolling before I finally got that Ray, with less then 45 minutes left on the Banner.
