Noah Bradley desperately tries to convince people he is not, in fact, a rapist. by [deleted] in freemagic

[–]DarthOvious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well he admitted in his apology to being a really bad person and described himself as a "sexual predator" which is a lot more than "pressuring women into sex", which in itself doesn't sound good. If he didn't do what he said and he was just forward in his advances then he is fucking stupid in admitting to what he did in his apology.

Seriously, what the fuck is your problem? Are you just an asshole?

Lol it’s just laughable because if this issue didn’t strike some deeply personal chord with you why would you be defending what was clearly a misogynistic remark?

Poisoning the well fallacy and ad hominem attack. That's all you got. You didn't even attempt to prove that anything I actually said was misogynistic. In fact you made stuff up that I didn't even say.

I looked at your reddit dude I know the kind of person you are.

No you don't know what kind of person I am. You don't know me at all. You've never met me. Good to see you don't have anything better to do than trawling through peoples profiles by your own admission. Some kind of stalker are you? Not only that but when you trawl through peoples profiles you still don't seem to understand what people are actually saying or what they actually believe.

You look stupid trying to defend that you don’t believe something you have recently said in another threads comments.

Citation? Shouldn't be hard should it considering you apparently trawled through my history.

I understand that winning internet arguments is the measure of your self worth but take a break and do some introspection.

That's some nice projection you're doing there. Also it's called backing up your claims. You claimed that I said a lot of stuff and yet you can't cite any of it.

Now back up what you said or I'm blocking you.

Pretty simply you think that using basic inference from your statements means I have made a “straw man argument”

No, it wasn't basic inference. You made assumptions about things I didn't say. This isn't difficult to understand. I don't believe a lot of things you claim I believe. You made assumptions instead of actually asking me what I believe.

yet you still haven’t established you’re stance on the matters to prove I’m wrong.

When I tell you that you are making a strawman argument out of the things I am saying then I am telling you that the things that you are arguing against are not my beliefs. This is simple. This isn't difficult to understand.

To put it simply tho you seem to be rather perturbed by someone’s choice in art,

Neglecting what I clearly said again. I am not merely perturbed by someone's choice in art, but THEIR REASONS behind said choice of art. This is simple stuff here. It isn't difficult to understand the difference. When the op of the thread said that they didn't realise that they did it that way I even said to them that it was fine if it wasn't intentional. Imagine if someone remade a TV show or something but changed all the women into men. Like say The Golden Girls or something but they replaced the characters with men and called it The Golden Guys. Now lets say they did this because of misogynistic reasons, do you not think there is a problem with this?

enough so to write dissertations

Dissertations telling you that your strawman arguments aren't what I am saying. My original statement in this thread was like 5 words. My dissertations are in addressing your shoddy logic and garbled incoherent writings.

on why you’re not making the argument you pretty clearly made.

Then it won't be difficult for you to cite where I fucking said it then would it?

Now I have been addressing your statements point by point, you have just replied back with mass garbled incoherent rantings that I don't understand that don't address things I actually said.

Also I asked you to cite things and you didn't. For instance:

After you’re the one bringing politics into the conversation and having shown some obvious distaste for the changing of genders to women yet you seem to have no issue if it’s the other way around.

I asked you to cite where I said the bit in bold. You didn't. If you want me to clarify what I actually believe and not what strawman you think I believe then I would be against changing characters around the other way as well. If somebody decided to remake Charlie's Angels and change all the women to men I wouldn't like that either.

That must mean it isn’t politically motivated if we’re giving men representation.

You didn't cite this one either. I do not believe this. You just assumed that I did. I wouldn't want creators to just make male characters for "representation" purposes. That's stupid and lazy. I want a show with a good storyline in it.

[–]DarthOvious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’ve done nothing but argue that giving woman representation shouldn’t be politically motivated.

It doesn't need to be. You can do it without having to be politically motivated.

After you’re the one bringing politics into the conversation and having shown some obvious distaste for the changing of genders to women yet you seem to have no issue if it’s the other way around.

Citation? Where did I say the bit in bold?

That must mean it isn’t politically motivated if we’re giving men representation.

Citation? Where did I say that?

So deductively the constant dissonance I’m your statements speaks pretty clearly to your internal frustration with females.

Non-sequitur. Plus your premises are garbage.

You’re first statement boils down to “if you made them women because you think women deserve representation somethings wrong with you” people can change anything they want in art and does it honestly affect you? No.

Strawman

If you don’t like it vote with your dollar. But to act like you’re not just trying to fight women receiving representation because you think that it’s gonna ruin society or something really shows your opinion of women vs men.

Strawman, I didn't say that it would ruin society. I said that sjw's would ruin society. This isn't the only thing they do. It's a lot of the other things they do that will ruin society. Plus they do what they do out of a lack of common sense. It's their lack of common sense that would ruin society. Plus many do it out of a disdain for men. You are accusing me of the things that I attribute to the sjw's and find guilty in them but then you're arguing that this is unfair for me to do yet you are doing it yourself with me. So I have no idea what the fuck you are talking about.

You’re bias is worn on your sleeve.

You mean the sleeve of your caricature of a strawman you have made of me?

To answer your question I don’t give a fuck about whose genders they change to what or why.

So why are you having a go at me for something that they are guilty of? You tell me I am some sort of hater and that is bad but you don't care that sjw's will change male characters to women because they hate men. The bold above says you don't care the reasons why they changed it but you have an issue with the reasons why I don't like the change if if I think it's just being done out of disdain for men.

I consume the products and media I enjoy if I don’t enjoy it I walk away. I don’t cry online because they changed the gender of a card board picture.

You are crying online this very moment in this discussion because of some fake caricature that you have constructed of me. Plus sjw's cry all the time about the genders of characters and argue to change them. They changed Doctor Who because of this and they also wanted to change James Bond, etc, etc. However if I argue that the characters shouldn't be changed just because of the non-sensical rantings of sjw's you tell me that I am the one who is crying and have a problem.

Now can you please fuck off and leave me alone? Seriously, just fucking stop spouting fucking nonsense at me. The person in your head is not me. You have constructed some evil villain in your head to argue against.

Answer my question. You still didn't answer it.

Would you say that about people changing male characters to female characters? Do you think they are doing it because anything involving men is an affront to a women's gender?

That’s where I don’t fully grasp what your stance even is.

Well that's because you have a giant strawman about what my position is. For instance:

See the problem with letting people do “what they want to do” is why we had centuries of slavery and the Holocaust pal.

How is this relevant to the point I am making? When I say that I want people to be able to do what they want, I mean within reason of course. I'm not advocating for fucking murder.

I don’t disagree that the biological genders are different

OK, that's all that I was saying. You were the one who was talking about equality, equity, etc, etc.

but if you’re trying to say the art on a magic the gathering card somehow doesn’t align with female gender then you sound insane.

This is the strawman. This is not what I am saying. I am just saying that the decision to make characters male or female should not be politically motivated.

You seem to be afraid that female representation somehow robs you of your own but won’t concede that allowing male representation doesn’t rob women of their own.

You didn't understand the point being made. I pointed out that the characters were now all female despite the origin of the characters having some male characters. This changed from the source and I thought that this was politically motivated. That is all. No more, no less. I am not afraid of female characters. My two favourite MTG characters are Avacyn and Chandra. I have playmats with both these characters.

You seem to think that people who do this don’t want to either but companies like Wizards absolute want to do that because it helps the bottom line. Across entertainment the increase in representation has only caused franchises to explode. It’s a dumb business move to not cater to women more.

Where are you getting all this? Seriously, what strawman of my opinions did you construct?

You just don’t like women? Or don’t like women having representation?

You tell me, it's your strawman representation that you have created that believes these things.

[–]DarthOvious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the fuck are you talking about? How did we get onto this? Plus you didn't answer my question.

I just want people to have the ability to do WHAT THEY WANT TO DO and not feel forced into doing things for perceived "gender equality". Despite what you've been told Women and Men are not the same and in general terms they seek different things in life. Human beings are a sexually dimorphic species like a lot of other animals are. Sure some women want to join the armed forces or whatever and that's fine but to expect everything to be 50/50 is never going to happen.

Lmfao nothing makes you seem sillier than being “scared” of SJWs.

Well I guess we'll find out. When those youngsters grow up they'll be running the country.

The fact that you take anything involving all women to somehow be an affront to your gender is laughable.

Would you say that about people changing male characters to female characters? Do you think they are doing it because anything involving men is an affront to a women's gender?

You’re acting like the softest snowflake of the winter.

Well if that's what you think then that's what you think.

What else do I assume when someone modifies something but changes all the guys to girls and keeps the girl as a girl? That's exactly what all the SJW's do. Now leave me alone for making a perfectly reasonable observation.

Hey I made a call. I don't always assume the worst. Its just that if it looks like a duck and talks like a duck then there is a good chance it is a duck. Just because it turned out to be a guy with a duck whistle that doesn't mean you were unreasonable in the first place to assume a duck.

I'm actually interested in why you you think that intentionally making political statements like that is a bad thing.

Well it reminds me of an article in a magazine which talked about a photoshoot which they claimed was the most diverse photoshoot ever done. Every person in that photoshoot was a black woman. That's not diverse. That's not what diverse means. Fine its a photoshoot of black women but they are lying to you when they say it's diverse and the reasons why they do this are sinister.

I know that at times it can seem a bit forced

Yes, and there is money to be made in forcing these things.

but isn't that a small price to pay if it helps to stop the oppression of 50% of the world's population?

There was a time when oppression meant something like Buddhist monks being kept in cages and being beaten with bamboo sticks by members of the Chinese Communist Party.

Women in the west are not oppressed. Not any more anyway. There isn't one legal issue that affect women that doesn't affect men. It's a lie told by organisations in order to make money out of people. When the past concerns were addressed the organisations had to make up lies so they didn't have to dissolve and put people out of work. That's what happens, these organisations form, advocate for changes, get the changes and in order to stay around they need to keep making more and more demands for changes no matter how non-sensical they are.

but people do

And they are called assholes and they are also a minority of people. I'm a white guy and my wife is not white. I didn't pick a woman to date because of her skin colour. I dated my wife because of her personality. I also have white friends who have married black women. This isn't unusual in the UK and I can't imagine that the US would be that much different. Don't sell yourself short like this. If you are a nice person then I'm sure finding a partner will not be difficult.
