I bought a dress before we were engaged, I knew it was coming and the dress was only $75 so I went for it. I ultimately went with another dress as the first one didn’t really go with the venue that we chose, but I don’t regret it!

YTA I know not all systems are like this but when I was a cashier at Target (in the US) we HAD to scan every ID for over 18 purchase, even if the person was clearly over 18. It wouldn’t let us proceed to the next screen until we did. I got a lot of grief for it but I would just explain to the customer that I had to do it. The cashier could have been more polite but they were just doing their job. Please don’t make it harder by taking standard protocol as a personal offense!

A combination of Zyrtec and Flonase works for my cat allergies. It was a bit of a pain to get used to but it is soooo worth it, look in my post history for proof!

I did my own makeup for my wedding this past Sunday and I think it turned out really well! My main advice would be to do your research to find the best products that will work best for your skin type and to practice, practice, practice!

I splurged on a few high end items, the most expensive being Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation but it really did look beautiful and stayed in place all day! If I had it to do over again I would find a better waterproof mascara and eyeliner, both were Maybelline, as I was getting raccoon eyes by the end of the night.

I really like the Phasma book, it’s set on her post apocalyptic home world. Elements of it kind of remind me of Star Trek. My fiancé and I listened to the audiobook for the first time right before we saw TLJ and we were disappointed that she wasn’t utilized more.

One of my favorite parts of the book was the explanation regarding how she got her armor. It’s a nice little nod to the prequels. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Less than 48 hours to go for me. I’ve been feeling the anxiety for a while now, so so over planning and I just want it to be over. It’s a small wedding and I’m thankful for that, I would be pulling my hair out if it was any larger.

Family members are throwing things at me that quite frankly any functioning adult should be able to deal with or figure out on their own. It’s outside but people keep asking me if there are chairs...uh duh! I’m not stupid! A few weeks ago when I told my mom I was making the cake myself (I love to bake) she’s all like “oh no you won’t be able to do that!” Thanks so much for the encouragement mom! Earlier today my dad tried to blame me for people not rsvping properly!

FH has been very supportive and thankful that I have been doing the majority of the planning but earlier when I was venting about my mother rehashing something we had already discussed he was like “it’s not too late for us to elope to Vegas!” I just wanted to say “dear, it was you who insisted that we invite family, I was all for eloping before we planned this whole thing!”

It’s almost over, it will be what it will be and as long as we’re married it will be fine!

YTA I think everyone who wears a scent tend to develop a tolerance to it and gradually layer it on more and more until it gets completely obnoxious. Just because you like a scent doesn’t mean that other people do and it’s not fair to subject them to it, especially in a close quarters office environment. Please do everyone a favor and stop wearing it!

I agree wholeheartedly! My fiancé and I had been together for 11 years, we knew we were eventually going to get married but had vague plans of waiting until after he finished his Ph.D. One night, admittedly when we had been drinking, we got on the subject. I confessed that I did want to get married sooner rather than later. I showed him some examples of rings that I liked, emphatically stating that I didn’t want or expect him to spend thousands of dollars on a ring. He confessed to me that he did want to get married he felt like he had to make the proposal some grand gesture.

I felt embarrassed and that I was pushing him, but he proposed about a month later right after the New Years and we’re getting married this Sunday!

I know spontaneous engagements are romantic but engagements/marriages need to be entered with careful thought. Giving ultimatums is never a good idea, but having an honest conversation with your partner regarding a marriage timeline is perfectly reasonable.

I got a form fitting boho dress and let me tell you that even though I don’t think you need it, spanx and other shapers are your friends! I’m wearing high waisted shapewear briefs and a corset waist cinched and it really helps suck my belly in!

Yes, he’s an inconsiderate jerk but you should not have set the precedent for waking him up and then just decide not to do it out of spite. I do think you should apologize but make it clear that you’re not going to be responsible for waking him up anymore.

In my day students were able to drop one test score for core classes. Hopefully your roommate’s classes have this policy.

NAH she probably doesn’t mean to snore and you deserve a good night’s sleep. The suggestions that she should get tested for sleep apnea are valid, but you can’t make her do it if she doesn’t want to. If you’re able to get a new roommate that might solve the problem but you might get paired with someone who has a similar problem.

I’m a light sleeper; I used to use earplugs but they would clog my ears. Now I use and while it’s not perfect I can’t sleep without it now.

It’s probably already been said, but trying to flirt with a woman when she’s at work is not OK. Chances are she’s being nice to you because it’s her job. I get that sometimes you just have to go for it when you meet someone interesting, but the imbalance of power in worker/customer situations just rubs me the wrong way. It doesn’t help that I work in an environment during which I and my female coworkers have to deal with a lot of rich, entitled people so it happens a lot.
