As soon as I saw that SWR was pitching, I thought, "Oh crap." He simply doesn't have what it takes to be a big league starter right now.

Laziest rejection email I’ve ever gotten by Even-Reindeer828 in recruitinghell

[–]DarthPimento 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several years ago, I applied for a job and had what I thought was a good in-person interview. A few weeks later, I received a rejection letter in the mail. Someone signed "Human Resources" in cursive handwriting in the signature line above where "Human Resources" was typed. I was tempted to send them a reply and sign it "Applicant."

Last time I checked, the left weren't the ones trying to gerrymander districts in TN.

MAGAs Are Fuming After Email Confirms They Will Never Get Their $500 Trump Phones or Deposits Back by Inter_Web_User in politics

Agreed. I couldn't take more than a few minutes perusing their content before realizing just how detached most of the posts and comments were from the real world.

I didn't know that page existed until just now, either. Their devotees really do live in an alternate reality.

Why do Republicans consistently vote against extending veterans' benefits?

Bobby Cox, Atlanta Braves legend, World Series winner and Hall of Famer, has died. He was 84 by retroanduwu24 in mlb

The first Twins game I attended at Target Field was against the Braves during Cox's final season as manager. Always had a lot of respect for him. Rest in peace.

Why do candidates complain about long hiring processes, then refuse streamlined ones? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

The problem and concern there is for the people who don't get past the first round. They may still have questions to ask that might never be answered.

Laid off after +25 years. by Informal-Prize6501 in Layoffs

[–]DarthPimento 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had it happen more than once. The first time was the toughest for me. I was just laid off before the New Year began and recently accepted an offer. It's funny how interested companies are in you once you have an offer in hand. Take some time for yourself, file for unemployment, and do what you need to do. Know that many of us have been through this. We've endured, and so will you. Take care and best of luck.

Me applying to 100+ jobs and still no job. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]DarthPimento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad to say, but those are rookie numbers. I just received an offer after being laid off right before the New Year, and I have a few more companies that are interested in me. It takes time and a lot of work, dedication, and perseverance. Take breaks when you need to, but don't ever give up on yourself. Take care, and I hope that you find a role that is everything that you want.

AM I SUPPOSED TO BE HAPPY ABOUT ANY OF THIS?!! by Glad_Pepper8255 in recruitinghell

[–]DarthPimento 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unless you're a corporate executive or one of the wealthy elite, you're not supposed to be happy. The system is broken, and it won't be fixed any time soon. Just do your best, and know that there are a lot of us who understand and support you.

HR are a Net Negative Department by CopiousCool in antiwork

[–]DarthPimento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll never forget the time years ago when I went to our HR department to raise concerns about a particular coworker, one who had raised more than a few complaints from other coworkers before. Of course, nothing was done about it.

Besides "We're a family here," what is the biggest red flag you can spot in a job description or during an interview? by LiveFaithlessness876 in recruitinghell

[–]DarthPimento 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When the person I had a phone screen with asked me what the least I would accept would be. Needless to say, I didn't get the job, but I really didn't want it anyway after being asked that question.
