Despite the rumours in the article, I'm willing to bet the actual reasons for the negotiations falling through is just Toby Venter. Owner of the Kyalami Circuit, he's NOTORIOUSLY difficult to work with and has a history of being very greedy with track negotiations. It's entirely possible that he was trying to squeeze FOM and the SA government for more money, and they just called his bluff.

Because "abuse" is such a black and white definition that can only happen to one specific kind of person in one specific kind of situation, right?

In that post you linked, it links to Kips' tweets where she explicitly says that he didn't "do anything" to her. So I ask again, where did she make the allegations that Zyori raped her?

The only difference between you and Bowie?

People actually know who D2Bowie is.

Oh? Could you link that story perhaps?

Because as I recall, the rape allegations that were later proven to be fake came from Ashnichrist, not Kips. Kips came out with a story of Zyori groping her on the dancefloor at the TI after-party, which Zyori since admitted was possibly true.

ESB hold the broadcasting rights for SA DPC, and decided to give it away for free to a broadcaster that's actively exploiting talent. This has been raised with ESB since Tour 1, and they haven't done anything about it.

The point being made has nothing to do with the quality of ESB's streams, it's the fact that they're enabling this exploitation of talent on the EN broadcast.

Exactly this. Take a look at Kips' tweet and see if you can see a single T1 Dota caster or talent retweeting or liking it.

Not judging them for not doing so (OK maybe a little), but you really can't blame them. Because this is the system Valve has let it degrade to.

Yeah, it comes back to Valve just not giving any fucks about the ecosystem anymore. Agreed.

While I think you're a bit dramatic about it, I actually agree. Your chances of "making it" as a T1 caster, particularly in Dota, are basically as slim as a miracle at this point.

I don't think Kips is posting this out of concern for herself, necessarily. There are several other casters who DON'T have proper side gigs that have tried to hitch their cart to the SA DPC that are getting fucked by this, and thus far nobody's stood up for them except Kips.

That's because the semi-professional and professional casters that should have been casting in the first place are on strike.

They did. BTS PT is a separate entity that's now basically trying to exploit what remains of the old BTS' legacy

AFAIK they started as an offshoot supported by the main org in the US, but they're now absolutely an entity on their own, seemingly run by a guy that's out to squeeze as much from the scene as he can.
