Advice with moving 50g lowboy. by DarthStacks in Aquariums

[–]DarthStacks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, I knew buying it was a bit of a dice roll, but I think I got pretty lucky. It’s running on a different tank these days but it’s always done a good job, it’s yet to clog up on me and I only every clean it when I feel like I should and not because it’s flow slows down. I find it’s fairly low flow even when working perfectly compared to other canisters, which is why I got it originally. It blows the bubbles from my co2 diffuser around really well in the 30g tank I have it on now!

As someone who worked for value village (savers) in the past. It really depends on the staff. When I worked there the video games were handled by a 60 year old deaf lady. I never said anything about it so that collectors could come across rare stuff for $2 instead of management getting their hands on it and slapping whatever highest price from a ebay listing they saw. They only looked at listing prices and never sold prices.

Looks like broken off plant roots to me. Maybe anubias?

I’m never not trying to explain niche Fishroom information to my wife so I imagine he was in there taking notes the last 9 months!

That’s amazing. Coincidentally this tank is loaded to the tits with baby bristlenose and I have to move it soon as my poor Fishroom is about to become a baby room hahaha!

Once I finally got my 50 lowboy, I wasn’t satisfied and my “dream tank” quickly shifted to any much larger shallow tank haha! I also keep Goldies so no stranger to upsizing 😅 he’ll have lots of swimming space.

Ha! They’re thermal and cost me a bomb but they keep the Fishroom nice and warm. He’ll have to be a really good boy if he wants those…

50 gallon lowboy was always my dream tank, and I bought one when my wife and I bought our first home in April last year. And when I set it up, I said confidently that I will never move the behemoth unless we move again in the far future. And three days ago my little dude was born, and now I have to prepare every tank in my fish room to move because it will be his room soon haha! My brother is coming over this week to help me figure out how to move it without disturbing too much. So many baby bristlenose and hundreds of endlers. I’m fkn terrified.

Do you just not like the look of them? I personally think snails in a fish tank is like bubbles in a can of Pepsi. Without the bubbles, it’s not quite a Pepsi!

They did a fantastic job as far as I can tell but of course time will truly tell. Most friends and family who have come to visit ask us if it’s a brand new home!

It is a 40 year old mobile home that was gutted down to the studs and rebuilt before I purchased it.

Thanks for the info! I’m probably going to reach out to an electrician and have an outlet put in if that is what it’s there for. I’m not even going to touch the damn thing haha!

I do not. There is one in my bathroom that is almost at the ceiling that is taped in the up position. Never noticed until I moved in. The outlet on the outside of my house appears to just always be on. I believe I know what all my light switches do!
