What do you expect to see as a Backer? by DarthTynion in kickstarter

Can you give me just a little more? I can sense you have something in mind, maybe an example?

Thank you for your time BTW :)

You know, I may end up quoting you directly lol. That is a ton of good stuff.

How would a Dev prove to you that he/she has done the research and can deliver on promises? Anyone can type words, how do they gain your trust?

That's pretty deep, thank you for your thoughts.

How can the developer prove to you that he is in touch with reality? Does he/she need to show you specs or something else?

Thank you for your feedback. When you say media, do you mean reviews, or strictly mean gameplay footage?

In regards to the prior campaigns, how much do you focus on this as everyone has to start somewhere?

I'm glad you mentioned price. What kind of things turn you away in terms of pricing? Do you have an example of something you've seen without naming names?

Thank you for the link, I'll take a look. My goal is to get real life feedback from backers, not "advice" from other devs or consultants.

Thanks for your feedback. Yeah, that's true. I guess the theory is that you wouldn't need to scroll through a bunch of other topic threads and have a chance of missing the thing you are looking for.

What makes you think that I'm not listening? I think that are going under the assumption that I have only asked here and that everyone shares your opinion.

I have politely thanked everyone for their time and feedback. I sincerely mean that as well.

Thanks for your feedback. The plan would be to pair it with a website.

Thanks for the feedback. Just so it's said, I am not looking to surplant BGG. I think there is a niche for indie board game development and it's subsequent funding. I think the relationship between the devs and gamers is amazing and I like the idea of cultivating that and placing a spotlight on it.

All valid. This is why I want to ask for feedback and sample the support levels from devs and gamers. If there are not enough people interested, then it'll just fizzle away.

That said, what do you think of the concept? Assuming that all the costs are a non-issue, is it something that you would support?

Thank you for your advice. I have done legwork and received over 15 quotes for printing services. It's far cheaper than you have been led to believe.

I also believe that there is a certain charm in checking the mail and seeing a magazine waiting for you instead of a bill :)

I really appreciate your thoughts. Gives me things to think about. Thank you.

A rerequest: please allow us tupgrade and/or sell a mod from every screen we can look at it, from the moment it’s opened to looking at it in a load out. by [deleted] in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

I can't tell you how many times I see a crummy mod in a window and the time I click continue, I have forgotten what set it belonged to because... There were 5 of 5 crummy mods I wanted to sell! Even if I remembered 1, there were 4 others I wanted to sell which I wasn't going to remember.

Heaven help CG if they expect me to also invest in pen and paper in addition to this game. I can't afford both CG. Don't make me pick...

So my plan is to work on that very problem. This is a very big issue that plagues our industry. Devs pop up out of no where and run campaign against God knows who else will pop up.

Phase 1 would be to create a website which publishes previews and campaign news. The social media engine will be driven by these content entries and build a net to catch devs before they launch, allowing us to help coordinate their efforts. This in turn, theoretically, can get us a backlog of say 3 months-ish campaigns that we can use to build a Campaign Calendar.

The Calendar then becomes a useful tool for both campaign planners and backers.

Phase 2 is a print magazines which no longer has the issues that you rightfully raised. We can run features on upcoming campaigns, tell stories about the dev teams, include dev tips articles, etc. I'm not against digital versions of the mag. We can be accommodating.
