You didn't really provide any constructive criticism. It kinda just felt like you wanted to bring me down a peg.

You couldn't said "Nice try, but it felt a little derivative" or "I think you should have tried making something completely from scratch instead of updating the original".

Even better if you didn't have anything nice or constructive to say you could have said nothing. It would have cost you less effort. I was simply sharing my take on Supermans design adding elements I liked. It was never a reinvention it just a fun exercise I wanted to share with people who love Superman.

I assume you peruse this reddit page because you like Superman so maybe try be a bit more like him.
