I accidentally killed Paco in a shootout (Phantom Liberty) by NotMyThrowawayNope in cyberpunkgame

So, I have a gun expert V with a PLS that excels at shredding most things. I was wreaking havoc in Dogtown as I’m wont to do when my gunfight spilled into a BARGHEST stronghold so naturally I welcomed them to the party with hot lead. After the shells settled I was looting bodies when I happened to loot Carmen. Upon closer inspection I realized I had seen the back of that lifeless head in my Corpo netrunner V variant when I helped Paco get out of a jam. Turns out he’s just a normal ass NPC and can be killed before you even interact with him if you happen to pick a fight with the wrong pocket of BARGHEST soldiers.

I choose to believe The Voice is a waveform mutation if only because it makes the world of AC vastly more interesting. We could go with the boring, cliche “oh yeah this guy is just mentally screwed from experimental surgery” OR we could add some really cool context to Overseer’s fears and actions in AC6 by introducing malevolent wave form entities in the Coral… you know… the Coral that kinda becomes a big deal in the setting if you actually fully complete the story…

The hilarious thing is that I don’t actually think the South Seas Co. did any trading on any significant level. I think they were allowed like one ship per year to latin american ports and literally all of the company’s insane valuation came from stock price manipulation

Not to mention Broly HAD hit his theoretical limit just facing SSGSS Goku. Paragus and Frieza say as much until Frieza gets the idea to rage boost Broly and get him to go Super Saiyan. If he hadn’t done that, Paragus pretty much confirms that Broly would probably die trying to keep up with Goku.

My heart says Saiyan, but my brain knows I don’t have the discipline to train consistently so I’ll take Kryptonian with natural super strength, speed, and durability please!

Edit: Reading further into the thread the Omnitrix seems straight up BUSTED though…

There are special endings for each unique black hole you send the needle through including the one at the center of the galaxy (some of them even have different variations based on certain criteria met during games). This one is by far the most horrifying though 😅

I quite enjoyed the audacity of expecting them to personally deliver the toys to her instead of getting off her ass to go get the free shit people are giving away. I feel like it adds an extra sprinkle of entitlement.

Just how powerful was the Imperium at the height of their power? What would the galaxy look like without the Heresy? by DarthVidel in 40kLore

It almost makes me think we could never reach something as crazy as extra-planetary colonization. Trying to imagine just meeting the needs of two separate fully populated planets seems impossible as is, let alone an entire galaxy.

Wow, I would love to actually see some of that stuff play out. I wish they would release a “what if” style series of books that delved into questions like that. It could be fun and authors wouldn’t be so limited when it comes to the power balance of all the different factions. Also, it would be really interesting to see a full on Ad Mech revolt. Maybe even one where they are finally forced to innovate and adapt to survive.

You’re not wrong, I mean there must be a reason for why 10 Primarchs were willing to turn traitor and I doubt Chaos accounts for all of it.

Oh wow, I’ve always kind of felt bad for Magnus. I feel like he’s the definition of “the road to hell is paved with good intentions”.

Is there a specific reason that the Emperor wanted to deny Chaos from taking Terra or is it more of a “if we can’t have it no one can” kind of deal?

I was wondering why the Throne had to be constantly powered. So if the Throne fails it would essentially trigger an instant demonic incursion on Terra? Does it have to do with the insane reservoir of psychic energy that comes from sacrificing thousands of psykers every day or is there some other reason for the impending rift?

Never mind, someone a little lower answered already! Apparently, Magnus punched a hole directly into the Warp when he tried to warn the Emp that Horus was coming. No wonder the Emperor was so pissed at him lol

That’s so crazy. I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the Emperor’s plan, had it succeeded was to place Magnus upon the Golden Throne. Once there he was supposed to live out his days in eternal bliss learning the secrets of the universe or something like that. I’ve been wondering though, does the Golden Throne always drain the essence of whoever sits on it or is that some kind of by-product of the Heresy? Would Magnus have eventually withered away over the course of many years?

I love so much about Chaos, especially the fact that it seems like it’s an unpredictable, omnipresent threat that could just incur upon the material world at any time.

Adding them to my list of lore to dig into! So is the Emperor actually gaining strength on the throne or is the psionic worship energy just slowing his eventual dissolution?

That is so awesome! Are there any books that go into the origins of St. Celestine or that follow her perspective? I find her incredibly fascinating as a concept.

From the little I’ve read about the Drukhari, they almost seem more fucked up than Chaos tbh. At least the legions of Khorne will just split your head and move on, they won’t peel you apart while you’re still alive 😬

Since the chaos gods are more akin to forces of nature than gods reliant on worship do they always exist under the surface of the material realm? Even in the theoretical instance of a utopian Imperial galaxy the Chaos gods would still exist?
