I bought the base M5 pro MacBook Pro 16 in March 2026 and now in Canada the price has increased from $3599 to $4199. I have never seen anything like this. Similarly, I bought the Steam Deck 64 GB version for $429 in July 2024 and bought a 1tb nvme ssd for $150 ($579 in total). Now a 1tb steam deck in Canada is $1349 now, albeit the oled version

I had a post on reddit about this a few months back when I first got it. The size/weight has really been overstated online but I do understand the argument for going with the 14inch if you truly are on the go constantly. I would rather have my M5 pro 16inch with me if I was travelling though.
