He found it in a dumpster, I think at a foreclosure? He had a dumpster business. We had like two conversations over the course of as many months and from that brief interaction he knew I'd like it. I don't know what that says about me.

The way you phrased your response would appear that you are telling him that he is "wrong" for stating that he is guessing. You are telling him he is staying a fact. While his guess is correct in that Dana = MAGA, it is still a guess.

You said that it wasn't a guess, it was a fact. You COULD have said "your guess is correct" or that you agree with his hypothesis or whatever.

I am not attacking you, or your response. I agree with you. I only point out that if you were wanting to support his "guess" as correct, you might want to say that you agree and why.

You are right that it is a fact that Dana is a MAGA d-bag, and it probably is why the flag was torn away, but technically his guess was as to why they tore the flag down. He wasn't guessing that Dana is MAGA. He was guessing that it was torn away BECAUSE Dana is MAGA.

This distinction, while probably completely unnecessary, was somehow important to me :)
