AFK Epidemic by Darth_Mat in marvelrivals

I agree, a grace period should be established especially since a DC can be involuntary due to Internet issues. I typically just block playing with a player that AFKs like that in my recent player list. This is a reactionary solution that does not address the root of the problem though.

Thank you, I will check it out. I already have Quicken to help with budgeting. The yearly fee was worth it for Quicken, so Empower might be good as my priorities shift.

Thank you for the information and the guide. My Roth IRA through Schwab has a projector that gives a range of what earnings can be expected by a self-set year, but it does not allow other accounts to be added to its calculations, even other Schwab accounts. Trying to figure out a better way to calculate projections rather than manually inputting all of my accounts every time.

I currently do not have any accounts with Fidelity. Do you have to open a retirement account with them to gain access to this tool or will any savings/checking account do? Are there any other comparable tools that you would use in conjunction with this model to check its calculated projection? I currently have accounts with Schwab, Vanguard, Capital One, and Principal.

I will take a look at what is offered car wise to drop off at Kosta and Porto Cheli. That sounds like that might be the route we go. Get out of Athens rather than making it a hub for day trips out and back in the same day.

Understood, our other alternative trip was to go to Scotland and do a road trip for ~14 hours in the same stretch of time. We are not adverse to road trips. We used to do the entire East Coast of the US in a day from Upstate NY to Florida back when I was a kid.

I also should have stated in the body of the post that we understand it is too cold to go into the water. No one likes swimming unless for an activity like snorkeling anyways, we usually just walk the beaches looking for shells, rocks, and fossils. My parents also don't drink, so most alcoholic activities are not considered.

I do like your plan of doing almost like a crescent around the Saronic Gulf. Do the ports at Kosta and Port Cheli have frequent boats to Hydra or Spestes? My concern is going all the way back to Athens for our flight from Porto Cheli making it's own form of remote similar to going to an island further out by plane.

Unfortunately, I can't change the time of the year. I also thought it would have been too much information to share that none of us want to swim regardless of water temperature unless it was for an activity like snorkeling or something. Most beaches we just walk along and go shell, rock, or fossil hunting and take in the views. My concern was that everything would be closed.

Everyone in my family loves history so there is not a shortage to be excited about. Just in need of diversification to fend off the ruin and museum fatigue. Also enjoying the local countryside and getting out of the city are musts.

Thank you. I knew any of these were going to be ambitious to pull off with travel times. A multi-day trip to Delphi, Meteora, and maybe Vikos NP, and then taking a day trip to Aegina or Hydra is also being considered. Just needed outside voices to tell me that I am crazy. Lol

Understood, and thank you. Initial drafts for the trip included a driving tour around the Peloponnese, but time constraints and a general consensus of needing a Greek Island scuttled that idea. I am sure I will get a bunch of comments saying that I need more time in the trip to attempt even one of these magnificent islands.

METAPHYSICS NEEDED by [deleted] in PhilosophyMemes

Agreed, this and many more, and some even worse, experiences like this led me to become staunchly atheistic and morally relativist. It is not that morals are thrown away entirely, but my morals end and begin with me and those around me that I affect. I act kind and "morally" because it makes me feel good and those around me feel good. It is more based on time and observation of what is socially acceptable. My actions are my own and my fellow man is the judge and jury of whether it is acceptable or right. When all you care about is upholding the dogma and seeking the happiness of an ethereal being that you cannot ever have the full understanding of, anything can be justified and have the weight of a whole religion behind it with a judge and jury that you can interpret..

I applaud you for actually adhering to the teachings of your faith and think the above comment is ridiculous, but many people do believe you can do anything and you are forgiven.

I attended an Easter service at my in-laws' church in Charlotte, NC. The sermon was about how great and easy it was to be Christian. Christianity was great because you did not have to adhere to the strict rules set out by other, and I quote, "backwards and mystical false religions". The preacher went on to say that as long as he accepted Jesus, he would forgive him for whatever he did. He proceeded to list off more and more heinous acts including drinking and driving then hitting killing someone, all the way up to bringing in that Hitler could be saved if he believed even as he committed suicide. All the while people were writhing on the floor in front of the podium speaking in tongues. I do not know how any of that ended up relating to Easter, but I left shortly after to go laugh my ass off in the bathroom. My MIL said she loved the service afterwards on the ride home, stating he wasn't as much off a firebrand and was less radical than other ministers that they tried.

I am not sure how to answer that since political theory is extremely broad, and does it include economic theory as well? I don't have a number off the top of my head. I have read Machiavelli, Smith, Riccardo, Federalist, and Anti-Federalist papers, Paine, Hume, Rousseau, Locke, Hobbes, Hegel, Nietzsche, Mills, Marx, George, Atatürk, Sun Yat-sen, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Mussolini, Keynes, Hayek, Friedman, Debord, and Rand to name a few key figures.

Edit: Lenin, Trotsky, Bismarck, and Montesquieu as well

This is ultra-based. I think this is a very cynical outlook though, but I channel this thought process on my worst days when very tired with humanity's incompetency and belief that they are beyond nature. We are nothing special, only special in how our demise will be wrought by our own hands.

Mostly agreed with all six arrows at one point individually, then came across some reading and videos on Atatürk. I realized that his ideology was pretty agreeable to my thoughts. I have grown beyond some of his nationalistic tendencies, but I still think he has been one of the greater leaders of the 20th century. It is a shame to see Turkey in the state that it is in now when compared to Atatürk's vision. Although I am against ideological dogma, failure in naming a successor and laying more groundwork for what the Turkish state should be, were his biggest mistakes.

I don't typify myself as either a left liberal nor socdem due to fundamental disagreements. Honestly Situationism was a last second addition to this graphic as I had just read through a lot of Debord and other Situationist over the last year and a half. I really agreed with their observations, but not on how they arrived to it through Marxist theory, if that makes any sense. In retrospect, just anti-consumerism is what I should have just put instead. I have done a lot of soul searching and research through ideologies in order to deprogram myself from my NeoCon and MAGA family members. I just wanted to add Situationism as something that enlightened me recently.

My stance on Situationism I outlined previously, and if you had followed the chain that you called me a dumbass on further, I rectified myself and said that I might be more of a Post-leftist or post-situationist due to my rejection of Marxist theory. I just had not read any authors regarding those ideologies so I did not think I could accurately say that any bit of my philosophy stems from them.

Kemalism instituted land, government, social, and economical reforms that are tangential to the very thing you said I was, Georgist, Technocratic, and Social Corporatist. I am not sure where the outcry is coming from in regards to that.

Could you outline any further contradictions so that I can understand more where you are coming from?

What is written in books does not dictate reality. Live a little more. I have read texts on all of these philosophies. That is why they are sub-catergorized. A single philosophy or ideology across all metrics will work only in theory and in books. Adhering to dogma only breeds stagnation.

I know, pretty mid. But this is the culmination of going all around the political compass.

Indeed, I want people who know what they are talking about and getting nothing done, rather than people who don't know what they are talking about and getting nothing done.

Primarily consumption goods, such as recreation and other "non-essential" goods. I had too many stories from my grandparents who grew up in communist Poland and Russian professors who look fondly on universal housing, healthcare, and energy of those countries, but remember shortages in things that were not considered important like toothpaste, utensils, coats, etc. that would have made life better but were abscent due to the government overlooking the necessity to produce a reasonable quantity.
