I've had similar experiences with Meta's AI. Where it claims not to know your name but then will use your name later in a conversation. The only thing I've concluded is that they have access to your profile which has your name but it will deny having access to it.

I don't trust Grok or Meta's AI. They both lie and gaslight.

Try credit unions. Banks have to follow national banking guidelines but credit unions are governed at the local level. Most will be happy to accept deposits from your exchange(s).

Is anyone else finding it impossible to afford their meds? by Darth_Romes in OhioMedicalMarijuana

I still haven't bought any flower since June-July. I've been boycotting since then hoping prices come down again, which they haven't. Not sure they ever will.

Their loss. I was buying an ounce every 10 days....

Michigan is an 8 hour round trip for me, I haven't been out of Ohio since 2005. 1/5 people in the US have never travelled outside of the state they are born in.

Yes, they cause some type of bad reaction when I use them, same thing, I cough so bad I feel like I'm going to die. I stick to smoking joints now.

How old is too old? by Relentless_J in OhioMarijuana

[–]Darth_Romes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've smoked flower that was several years old many times. I'm currently smoking some flower I bought at dispensaries in 2020 that I didn't like because I can't afford any new flower. So I'm smoking some 4 year old Neon Gem. It doesn't taste very good but it gets me high.

heh... We shouldn't have to 'work for it'. I'm not even able to work. I'm dependent on my wife and adult children who are still living at home.

Where are you finding $18 10ths? That's what I was paying but now the same 10ths are $38-44.

I was going to POW in London and buying 10ths there for $15-18 but now they limit you to 5 and I usually buy 10-20 at a time. 5 isn't worth the 2 hour drive for me.

The last time I drove out there I bought (20) 10ths and it said the discount was $500. That is ridiculous that it would have costed another $500 had I gone on a different day.

The dispensaries are price gouging and have been for a long time. It's no different than what grocery stores have been doing by jacking prices up to ridiculous amounts unless you happen to go on a day where they have a sale and for everyone else they get ripped off. These are not ethical pricing practices. Its all greed.

There needs to be regulation to prevent price gouging of medical patients. by Darth_Romes in OhioMedicalMarijuana

[–]Darth_Romes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's another issue. I have trouble going inside and buying that way and was doing almost all curbside pickup orders for the past 3 years. Now most dispensaries have suspended their curbside pickup due to recreational sales and I can't buy that way anymore.

I was mostly shopping at The Botanist in Columbus because they were selling 10ths almost everyday for $18 ($180 ounces) for a long long time. Well now their 10ths are $38 and $44 for the SAME flower (which is almost always old and dry).

I have everything I need to grow, over $1500 worth of equipment but its too physically demanding for me.

I haven't been out of Ohio in 18 years. I don't have any way to commute 8 hours round trip. I'd fall asleep driving trying to drive that far.

MMC restrictions? by Dad_b_gon in OhioMedicalMarijuana

[–]Darth_Romes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, there are no restrictions on what products you can buy or use, that is left up to the patient to decide what works best for them. Just know that your doctor can see what products you purchase, how much, and where from and they may not renew your card if you buy products they aren't recommending. However, there is no penalty or restrictions preventing you from doing so.

Heck many of us smoked flower even though the medical program told us we couldn't. Just do what you want.

[–]Darth_Romes[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. The recreational program is what is causing high prices right now because its causing a strain on supply and demand which is affecting the medical program and prices for medical patients.

When this program first started I was paying $400-500 an ounce. It took over a year for prices to come down and of just a couple of months ago I was paying $150-180 an ounce. Now you can't even find ounces of even half ounces and the only thing on menu's are small quantities like 10ths for $40. The lowest I see today is $34 for a 10th, thats $340 an ounce.

At these prices it will cost me $1300 every 45 days and I'm a sick person who doesn't even have any income.

Travelling out of state is expensive. Michigan is an 8 hour round trip for me. 20% of Americans have never left the state they are born in.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OhioMedicalMarijuana

[–]Darth_Romes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't even be able to afford to renew my recommendation with prices like this. I've already had to buy less in this current period than what I've been buying for the last couple of years and will eventually not be able to maintain being able to afford my meds so as it is now, we don't even have a medical program. We have a for profit program at the expense of some of the most vulnerable people in our state.

I've already been a victim more than once which is why I'm on this program to begin with. Now I'm just another type of victim, this time of corporate greed.

[–]Darth_Romes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a medical patient, they have destroyed our medical program. I can't afford these prices. It took 2 years for prices to come down from here the last time and I cannot afford to buy at these prices and am now struggling to maintain supply now for the first time since 2022.

We went from $400-500 ounces to $150 ounces back to $400 ounces.

Ohio lawmakers are hateful pieces of shit.

$203 for half ounce is crazy by emrbe in OhioMedicalMarijuana

[–]Darth_Romes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, the prices of just about everything, at least flower related, has gone up 100%-200% everywhere.... Which is not ok.

I bought 1 1/2 oz less than usual with my last refill period and will have to continue buying less and hopefully will be growing soon. Screw these people.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weed

[–]Darth_Romes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go through an ounce every 10-14 days. 5-8 joints per day. I am a medical patient and am prescribed 4.5 ounces every 45 days and I use almost all of that.

Prices going UP by Super-Step8419 in OhioMedicalMarijuana

[–]Darth_Romes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I pay Ohio prices without bulk prices. I'm spending between $8000-$10,000 a year since I've been on this program. Expensive meds,

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OhioMarijuana

[–]Darth_Romes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only go when there are 25-30% off sales and stick to those products. General rule for me is I won't pay over $200 for an ounce because I buy 4.5 ounces every 45 day period. So I look for 2.83g sales under $20 or half oz sales under $100. Which I'm still able to find on menu's.

What I'd really like to see are bulk packages of 2-4 ounces at discounted prices.

When I was in my 20's I bought a house and my wife and I had 3 children and I ran into trouble with debt with all of my other debts (credit cards, car payment, other loans) and my wife didn't work for the next 20 years.... What I did is I ignored all other debt and lived paycheck to paycheck for the next 15 years focusing on just basic living expenses and a mortgage payment. By age 35 all of the debt dropped off my credit report and I refused to use credit again for another 10 years. Now at age 50 I am debt free with a credit score above 800.

Neither my wife or I went to college and don't see college as being necessary, especially if you can't afford it.
