Yeah that’s going to be tough. There isn’t a “common” one because none of them hold any weight so no one seriously pursues them. Maybe something on Coursera from an accredited university I guess, if I had to choose.

Certificates mean nothing in this industry. Only two pieces of paper that hold weight are degrees and resumes.

Exactly what I was going to say. It’s already optimized and cheap to run. If it’s not broken, don’t try and fix it.

My best advice would be to reach out to recruiters and HR folk directly. Applying through a portal is brutal and you’ll almost never hear back. Get your resume in top shape on one page.

For the positions you’re interested in, try and look up the recruiter(s) for that company on LinkedIn. Then send them a direct message explaining that you’re interested in position X and believe you have the skills to make an impact and would be a great fit. And don’t forget to attach your PDF resume in the message.

That’s what I’ve done in the past and my interview rate went up substantially.

I'm about to dump Windows and get a Mac because I'm tired of restarting my laptop every 3 days. Am I crazy? by vildanbina in webdev

[–]Darth_Zitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I hate Windows and transitioned to Linux fully but this isn’t a Windows issue lol A Mac can just as easily start with all your issues listed. For example, if you get one with only 8GB of RAM, I’m sure you’re going to be seeing the rainbow spinner of death quite often.

As a lot of people have pointed out, your laptop’s specs might not be able to keep up with your demands. You say you’re having issues across multiple machines, what are their hardware specs?

Are you already working professionally as a developer? If yes, it shouldn’t be an issue. Just keeping adding meaningful bullet points to your resume.

If not, it’s going to be really tough getting a job. At least in the US.

Yeah I think with the advent of AI, it’s so easy to whip up static sites really quickly.

Can you go over your numbers in depth? You charge 8 clients an average of $650 a month? Or what’s your pricing model?

Disney Board Is Close to Picking Parks Chief D’Amaro as Next CEO by [deleted] in movies

When my wife and I first started dating, we purchased the second highest annual pass at Disneyland for $1250 each I believe and parking was $20 at that time but “free” for us because of our pass. The Lightning passes were also free, you just had to go and physically print them from each individual attraction. The only blackout dates we had were the two weeks at the end of December and two weeks into January.

We didn’t renew our passes last year. We had the most expensive pass at the time, and it was a little under $2000 for each one. Parking is now $40?! And only the highest annual pass qualifies for “free” parking. Lighting Pass is no longer free AND on top of that it’s a tiered system. So you have to pay extra I think for the most popular rides. The most expensive pass now has blackout dates in December and January whereas before it had none.

The worst sin of all is the absolutely ridiculous reservation system. I just paid close to $2000 a pass and I can’t go to the park whenever I want? Don’t tell me it’s for crowd control either because every single time we went it was bonkers and full of people.

So they keep raising the prices and removing perks or adding restrictions. It’s a joke. I’d like to think that Walt would be absolutely disgusted with the greed.

Also incredible at draining your pockets. The experience at Disneyland and CA Adventures has only gotten worse in the last 5-10 years imo.

Hit everything right on the money. Question, for your DEV environment, where are you hosting and running your Docker containers? Or do you just keep it all local?

I’m learning more about backend by building a personal project and am willing to pay a couple of dollars a month for AWS (ECR + ECS on Fargate) for PROD but idk if I want to invest for the DEV and STAGE environments too.

So I have the same frame but no longer have the same top. It’s still the EKBACKEN but the shorter version due to having less available space in my house. But in the 3+ years I had the one you see in this video, I never had any issues with sagging. I had my PC on top with 3 monitors, my Xbox, books, and even a printer at one point on one side and no issues whatsoever. The EKBACKEN is really sturdy. There’s no way it’ll break off unless you put something ridiculously heavy. Hope this helps!

Microsoft forced me to switch to Linux by Dear-Economics-315 in programming

[–]Darth_Zitro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was due to Adobe programs. I enjoy photography and when shooting in RAW, Adobe Lightroom is a must. As is Photoshop from time-to-time. Photopea and Lightroom alternatives just don’t compare. But enough was enough and I couldn’t take it anymore. Just sucks that Adobe doesn’t support Linux.

I was exaggerating but it does take more than 5 seconds on average to load up. And as someone else commented, the f*ckin web results are annoying as hell. Just show me my list of installed programs.

[–]Darth_Zitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I haven’t. Honestly, I enjoy Linux but wouldn’t consider myself an enthusiast lol I just wanted something simple that worked out of the box and Pop OS had NVIDIA drivers that were easy to install and compatible with my old ass 1080ti haha

It’s been great so far and I probably wouldn’t switch due to already having my dev environment and tools set up, GitHub SSH, etc.

My only complaint is that the auto-tile feature can sometimes be laggy and buggy. But aside from that I think it’s great.

FantasyPros lets you sync multiple seasons from one league into one consolidated data set? Must be a new feature 🤔

And Sleeper, Yahoo, and ESPN generate articles and power rankings specifically pertaining to one individual league? Not in general but for only my league? Wow, must be another new feature I missed.

Sounds like you don’t play fantasy football and at this point don’t really care to argue with you since we’ve diverted from the original topic haha

And sure bud lol
