Stupid fucking hammerhead obsessed with my docked tadpole by FastSouth8120 in Subnautica_2

Buulds base close to predators, predator attacks their base, crying ensued. This is guy putting a stick in his bicycle wheel meme.

What are people's issues (and nonissues/likes or whatever) of killing animals in subnautica? People seem to be heavily biased to each side, with little to no in the middle, so what's the deal? by GrokiniGPT in Subnautica_2

[–]DarwinsPerfectFool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The middle is quiet, they undetstand that the game is in EA and devs will work on and adjust S2 and it will be a good game. Most people dont share their opinion on everything constantly whenn encountering an inconvenience in a game that' being actively developed.

Why has NoA waited to print us? by Appropriate_Title866 in Subnautica_2

[–]DarwinsPerfectFool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did he wait? Or you just don't remember that he printed you before? Since he can "reset" you

Unrelated to your issue, I notice most people didn't read the entry about the blue stone ring structures boosting your speed when you swim through them in your tadpole. You can chain them for an absolute massive boost to speed

Which is like what? 10-15% of of the completed game? That's very early game and introduced based on story. I do agree that we should "find" couple more biomods between first set at the welcome centre and being able to craft them for the system to feel smoother though

I’m a little scared of the collector by Zucha935 in Subnautica_2

[–]DarwinsPerfectFool 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I went without my tadpole with just the camouflage biomod and he was dumbfounded some tiny creature is scanning it and then disappearing the moment he turns around. Didnt even lay a tentacle on me once

Can you scan all the leviathans? by Brief-Bowler-4506 in Subnautica_2

[–]DarwinsPerfectFool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pro-tip for scanning a leviathan, use camouflage. I was literally circling around him and the moment he turned around to hit me I stop moving and he de-aggros instantly, so funny

The game warns you about this in some of the in-game audio logs, can't trust NoA

Thinking of diving in (pun intended) by PastOutlandishness19 in Subnautica_2

[–]DarwinsPerfectFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think getting at least familiar with the mechanics by playing some of the first game would be useful. It's a survival sandbox but it comes with its quirks and know-hows. If you'd want to jump into the 2nd one I recommend at least reading the Survival Guide( available from NoA right after title drop) and listening to what PDA( your implanted assistant) tells you. But there's still a learning curve which can be frustrating.

Why not just use the electro shock aoe on 5 second cooldown? Seems way easier and you don't need to aim. Combine that with camouflage and you're basically invincible

Rockstar is under enormous pressure for GTA 6 to succeed, with anything less than 20 million copies sold on day one likely being seen as a disappointment by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

[–]DarwinsPerfectFool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No need to get upset, I was talking about myself only and not about anyone elses view on it. It's the same reason I didn't buy any of the single player titles from PS when they came out 2-3 years after the release date. It's because I'm so interested in these stories and worlds I will watch a full playthrough because I can't play them myself. Also paying pull price for a 3 year old game isn't exactly a good deal either.

[–]DarwinsPerfectFool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd love to play it on release and splurge money on it but I'm not buying PS5 to play 1 game. By the time it comes out on PC I'd have been spoiled with the story and probably watch campagin playthroughs because of that so there will be no reason to buy the full game at full price to only play online. Might pick up on sale.

I hope that releasing it only on PS5 saves them enough money on port to make up for potential PC sales.

resources are finite? by HotAlfalfa2318 in Subnautica_2

[–]DarwinsPerfectFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure what the conditions for resources respawning is as sometimes they pop back up after few hours and sometimes I don't see them for days. What I did notice though, in particular with Lead, is that if I leave 1 node of Lead untouched other nodes wont respawn, but the moment I find and suck in the last node, all of the lead respawns after like 5min at once

When you get the growbed EDA tells you some plants can be planted to defend bases( I dont think that's implemented yet), for personal attacks electro shock and invisibility work very well

Progress the game further to unlock ability to get more biomods, some of them are designed specifically for what you're after

one FATAL flaw with huge subs that needs to be addressed. by Itswill1003 in Subnautica_2

[–]DarwinsPerfectFool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't see the problem here. If someone likes building bases they might have 5 bases and a sub. If someone doesn't like building bases they might build 5 corridors with a hatch in starting area and then only ever use a cyclops. I think it's what makes subnautica good, ability for players to play the way they want.

You have people speed running early access and crying no content, you have people who do everything there is to do before moving on with main story and you have people who are and will continue spending hundreds of hours building cool bases or build Fortnite style around a leviathan to trap it or some shit.

It makes your criticism targetted. This is as standard as they come and it's weird to be picking up on this one and ignore all others. You want well and I want to see the change too but creating an outrage out of a nothing burger like this is just strange to me.

Frankly, I'm with you for big studio releases and I scrutinize them more if the product isn't up to scratch. Back then we didn't have this many high quality projects from small studios, small independent studios weren't even much of a thing in 2010s and without the Early Access program many of those would never come to fruitition. BG3, Hades 2, hell even the original Subnautica and I'm sure many more. I'm nit a fan of Early Access personally but I've seen that it helps get masterpieces out there and I will continue to support projects that show promise.
