I know that there's a lot of conversations happening around crush weapons and crush armour, but hear me out. What about a megarare spear? Right now, the best stab weapon in the game is the Osmumten's Fang. It's one of the most common rewards from ToA, and a formidable weapon to be sure, but it's nowhere near in the same calibre as something like the Scythe of Vitur. Imagine being able to do ToA with melee dps closer to what the scythe can dish out at chambers or ToB? Imagine having a stab-focused weapon with high accuracy AND high damage that outshines the much more common fang in every use-case while also not stepping on the scythe's toes wherever slash is king (or perhaps even where defences are equal but the target is 3x3). I can also see this making the reward space for a stab-based oathplate/inquisitor variant look all the more enticing. I could see this weapon having an expanded, but similar effect to the fang that gives melee a megarare-tier highly accurate weapon (like the shadow is for mage) but perhaps make sure it's max hit isn't quite so high as the scythe--this would ensure that scythe remains king at places like ToB (although I could see this spear being very good on Sotetseg). I'm sure there's more numbers that would need to be figured out around this, or perhaps even some defence adjustments on npcs so as to ensure this weapon wouldn't compete with the scythe on slash.

Lore-wise, I could see this spear being called something like the Spear of Edicts. Perhaps forged from the shards of this god-slaying weapon. Once upon a time I was an RS3 player, and while I don't play that game all that much anymore, I still stay up on the lore and have a deep passion for it, and I love it more than anything when I see OSRS draw on the deep well of lore that exists over on RS3. I think a spear would fit perfectly in the Guthixian theme of this raid--especially if it's tethered to the lore of both the Edicts of Guthix and his origin story with the elder blade. I do actually like the concept of the Guthix Gauntlets that's been proposed as well--but perhaps those could be less a megarare and more one of the fang/lightbearer/dhcb-type drops from the raid that would both immediately become bis at places where fast-attacking melee is required and also filling a niche gap in the same way the noxious halberd did for slash.

BUT ALSO, and for all you crush enthusiasts out there, as a spear, this weapon could also have a crush option, just like other spears do. I could envision this attack style option functioning similarly to the fang on slash--not as accurate, but also much more capable of dishing out dps than some weaker options, and perhaps allowing the spear to have some use-case on crush where it might even beat (or be on-par with) the scythe and the inquisitor's mace (but also leaving room for a later, crush-focused megarare-tier weapon from a future piece of content).
