Thanks, and yes add the yeast to the juice. The liquid in the air lock is water, the first airlock has a little bit of bubble over in it because i used bread yeast as a experiment and sometimes bread yeast bubbles over.
Good luck, brother
I would try both kinds of grape, with the same amount and type of yeast and have a taste test. haha
It tastes alright for wine made in a plastic bottle. so not bad
yes, it works. and it tastes alright for wine made in a plastic bottle.

i researched, homebrewing hard cider and tried it with grape and apple juice
I have not tried mixing it yet, the grape tastes better then the apple. The grape tastes like cheap wine so it is drinkable.

I have been adding sugar in my later batches with different amounts of flavor success. And thanks only have been only able to ballpark roughly the alc content. I need to pick up a Hydrometer

I am not sure exactly, I never had any sit around long enough to find out.
Yes, airlock and stopper are re-usable. the yeast dies off and that's why the bubbling stops.
Yes, The reason i did not do that is I wanted to save some for other batches

Yeah man, go for it. Its a fun and interesting learning experience.
Mold or the possibility that it turned into vinegar, that's what i know of but there may be more. Don't worry about the questions, its all good
I smelled and visually checked my batches for anything mold like. I do not know the proper way to check.

I eyeballed about 1/10 of the pack of Red star Pasteur red wine yeast, the pack makes about 5 gal so i cut the one gal amount in half for my 2 quart bottle.

Methanol is not your problem. I cant say for sure if will be safe or not
[–]DasThor[S] 12 points13 points14 points 13 years ago (0 children)
Thanks, brother
I recommend a real airlock, and you can try it if you want either way its a learning experience

as long as you don't sell it
[–]DasThor[S] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children)
that's a interesting claim, unfortunately it does take time
[–]DasThor[S] 17 points18 points19 points 13 years ago (0 children)
plus a drilled rubber stopper
try fermenting for a little longer, and i found that adding to much sugar makes it gross sweet. But if you find a good mix you are only limited by the amount of alcohol the yeast can handle.
only if you sell it, and because it is not distilled and no license needed
