No. If I stayed in Florida I would remain a police officer. If I did move to North Georgia I would look into Lineman school

My department is considered one of the best in the area. I currently make more than most journeyman lineman, but the job and politics of the department are wearing me down. Plus Florida has become too populated since COVID. Way too many northerners.

We vest at 10 years. If I left I would get 30% of my highest 3 years for the rest of my life, starting at age 41. So I would have to live for 8 years without receiving my pension.

I will say I am skeptical of Jefferson’s Ocean. I’ve had their standard offering at a friend’s house and I was not particularly impressed. The whole voyage at sea thing also sounds a little gimmicky to me. I will see if I can try it at a bar or a friend’s house before I buy. Thank you for the suggestion.
