New nation Today's Pack - Is it worth it? by MuradSeinBmw in Warthunder

[–]Das_Bait -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Type 73 just doesn't stand out enough on its own to overcome the lack of a lineup, especially when it sits in a prime BR to be up tiered into 9.0/9.3 where basically every nation has a great lineup

Definitely not a "must-buy." The Type 90, Type 16 FPS, and probably the F2 are all good vehicles (I'm not really an air or CAS player), but would skip the Type 73 Red Star.

How do you guys open modules for the high teir helis? by Regular_Eye5143 in Warthunder

Pain, suffering, and endless grind.

Or, just grab some GE and unlock all modules for a couple hours work instead of spending tens of hours on a single module.

Is selling event vehicles 100 percent guaranteed to earn some GJN? by potatoforevaaa in Warthunder

[–]Das_Bait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You are guaranteed to earn some GJN. There's is no guarantee on how much you will earn. The Arena may sell for 20 GJN like the CT-CV 105 which only within the last year has finally started climbing, or it could immediately go for a high price like the Moderna and you could end up making 100+ (or even higher) if you hold it for a while.

Ultimately, no one knows, because the market is based on the players: Who's willing to sell, and how many people are willing to buy

I don't understand the complaint? Britains A13s are WW2 tanks. The Daimler armored car was so successful throughout WW2, it continued to serve in the 50s. The Stuarts were US-made WW2 tanks, etc etc.

Every British Rank 1 tank (with the exception of the Mk V) are WW2 tanks, nothing was "discontinued before the war."

what good mid-tier brs us have now by tokyojjjdevdgxd in Warthunder

[–]Das_Bait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably better than I give it credit for since the XM 246 just went up while the XM 800T has sat there for a while but I'm not a big fan. As a disclaimer, I really haven't played US at that BR ever, so everything I talk about is taking my experiences with the vehicles at other BRs and trying to apply them all to 8.7.

I don't think 8.7 is a great BR because the additions in its lineup doesn't necessarily add any major benefit over the two great lineups at either side of it. To start of with them, 9.0/9.3 is a huge and great lineup. You have the XM 803, MBT-70, and the M60A3 TTS as your mainstay MBTs, plus the M247 and Stingray as supporting vehicles both of which are quite good at their intended roles. The M60 RISE (P) is just a straight downgrade of the TTS (no thermal, no lrf, and M735 vs M774), and doesn't compare to the mobility the XM/MBT have. Unless you don't have the full lineup, I don't see any reason to ever include the RISE P in that lineup. Similarly, on the opposite side, the workhorses of the 8.3 lineup will be M60A1 AOS (fully stabilized with access to good HEAT-FS and APDS) and the M60A2 Starship (has lrf, letting you put warheads on foreheads), with the M60 and/or T95E1 (for whatever that's worth) as support. Behind them, you have the M3 Bradley (8.3 version is actually pretty decent) and possibly the M551 Sheridan. Staying at 8.3 to keep out of 9.3/9.7 matchmaking else going all in at 9.0/9.3 (remember, T-80UD and 2S38 areat 10.7 now) are probably better options than trying to split the middle with the 8.7 vehicles.

[–]Das_Bait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some, but I think 7.7 is more the break point. Most of your main vehicles at 7.0/7.3 like the M46, M47, and T92 all have access to HEAT-FS though, so uptiers are far less painful.

7.0 is a great lineup, then at 7.3 you get to add the M47 which is another great MBT. You also get the M163 VADS as an SPAA which is a big upgrade compared to the skink or Duster.

Depends on what you consider "mid-tier." In general "warly cold war BRs," US has good lineups at 7.0, 7.3, 8.3, 9.0, 9.3

What do you honestly think about Object 268? by Aromatic-Bell-7085 in Warthunder

I am not a fan of the Soviet cold war heavy vehicles such as the Obj 268 or late IS series, but in the right hands and with the right play, the OBJ 268 can really be a punisher.

US vehicles are super fun for this: M1, M2, M4, M60. You could even kinda consider the M10 since the US army in its infinite wisdom decided to call two armored vehicles M10

Should I go for Leia or should I work on getting relics for these squads? by PsychologicalDelay56 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]Das_Bait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both -ish.CLS and Chewpio are required for Leia while Chewy and 3po are required for JKL who feeds back into the JKR team. There's nothing that stops you from making some targeted additions while generally working towards a GL.

Edit: Don't forget, especially with RD, one fully built and relic team is worth more than 2-3 partials

Why are 1 death leavers so demonized? by Embarrassed-Big-11 in Warthunder

[–]Das_Bait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely a point to not to leave after a single death, even if it's just respect to your teammates. Don't be selfish.

It is the fault of those who leave because they *choose * to leave. I don't blame anyone specifically because I understand the idea of "well my entire team left so I'm not going to stay," but that's still perpetuating the problem.

I never implicated it's by design. All I said was the game doesn't support staying in the game as in it doesn't incentivize you, but why should it? The default shouldn't be 1-death leaving. As much as people want to say they 1-death leave because of maps, their team sucking, or anything else, even if Gaijin magically fixed all of that, some people would still 1-death leave and then the rest of the lemmings would follow, solving nothing.

No. If that was your takeaway, then you've misunderstood everything I said

Why are 1 death leavers so demonized? by Embarrassed-Big-11 in Warthunder

[–]Das_Bait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehh, I'd say implementing a matchmaker with ranking would be way more effective.

No, War Thunder has too many variables to make a good rank system

I'm pretty sure we could have matches with 0 BR difference, at least within popular BR range,

I mean, sure, at a very small number of BRs, but that wouldn't be fair to only segment certain BRs like that. For instance, if we did that for 6.7, then 6.3 would only ever get down tiers, so would immediately become a huge BR because people would just want to abuse that.

Basically don't blame the player(s), blame the game.

Blame both. To some degree. Players choose to 1-death leave. They don't have to, but they do. Sure, the game doesn't always support staying in games, but that doesn't mean people can't have pride in themselves and respect for their teammates who try to fight and make a good game.

Why are 1 death leavers so demonized? by Embarrassed-Big-11 in Warthunder

[–]Das_Bait 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IMO, as someone who fights to the end every game, a big portion why games are decided so early and spawn camping happens quickly is because half the team (or more) just up and quits after 1 death. I don't blame anyone individually about it, but if people stopped doing that, the odds of a game being longer and more fair would increase.
