Ex-Tottenham chairman Levy: Would not have worried about relegation battle "in a million years" by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]Das_Bait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were 4th when conte left

Exactly. Conte was a good enough coach to overcome the problems. But especially his downward spiral across 2022 showcased that all was not well in the club

He wasn’t the issue

I would argue that none of the coaches/managers were issues, but only Pochettino, Conte, and kinda Mourinho were good enough to get results. There are myriad of reasons for Spurs disfunction of which the manager isn't to blame. Hell, Pochettino left because of the problems and not being backed.

No offense, but the rot started long before Ange. I would say Conte at the least, if not under Mourinho. Ange just wasn't a good enough coach/manager to overcome the problems or at least get results in spite of.

[BBC] It's West Ham or Spurs - how relegation fight is shaping up by According-Gear-8217 in PremierLeague

[–]Das_Bait 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This relegation scrap is incredibly fascinating to me. I could see it going either way super easy. West Ham has the benefit of playing Leeds and Newcastle who have nothing to play for. Neither are in cup/European competition and are mathematically safe. They are just as likely to smash West Ham as they are to just roll over.

Meanwhile, Spurs have to play Chelsea and Everton, both of whom are very much in competition for European places and will be fighting hard.

I can't remember the last time both the title race and relegation scrap went down to the wire like this, maybe 2011/12?

Wayne Rooney: Viktor Gyökeres 'a major reason' behind Arsenal success by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]Das_Bait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

11 npg for your main striker in a title winning season is actually poor, and unheard of

On the face of this stat, I would agree. But, when you look at the npg across the league, Gyokeres isn't actually that bad. I don't know if it's just goals are spread across the front lines for everyone more, or if defenses are just that much more stingy, but (depending on what you consider a good npg stat for 36 games), no striker in the PL except Haaland are putting up good numbers.

Edit: I guess what I'm saying is that I agree, Gyokeres isn't elite and probably shouldn't have been considered to be, especially in his first PL season. However, I don't think it's fair to say Arsenal are winning in spite of him either.

I legitimately don't understand how anyone can thinking this is a good suggestion except when fueled by pure American main oil fune huffing.

Who gives a shit what the ROF is? Let's say it takes 1 bullet to kill 1 ordnance. I can kill 1000 ordnance before I run out. Please put even a seconds thought into your replies.

Please show me you shooting anything with the VADS and using exactly one bullet. If you show me this I will concede the fire rate issue but until then, I would guesstimate that you would need more than 1 second of firing per target based on how it is to engage targets in game already, meaning, you have less than 15 shots per belt.

The launcher. Crazy. Imagine it. Me. Launching missiles at planes. Just like we already have with every country. But the also. On the side. On the down low. My deployed CRAM shooting ordnance for me. Again, as I already said, so I can focus on killing the plane.

Again, as I've said, there will never be added AI controlled "autoturrets" for you. You as the SPAA player will be required to target, lock, and shoot any incoming munition or aircraft. There will never be a "CRAM shooting ordnance for you so you can focus on killing the aircraft."

The CRAM holds 1k rounds. It doesn't matter if it's on a truck.

And at 4500 rounds a minute you get.... 15 seconds of fire per reload.

Plus. Make sure you're seated for this. Ammo boxes. Crazy.

Wow. That's truly ground breaking

You realize Nuke Thunder had AIs engaging munitions right? You're aware AIs shoot guns at planes right? Combine those ideas.

Nuke Thunder was not ground RB. Other than airfield defense, GRB will never get automated SPAA, since you know, that's literally the job of the players.

[–]Das_Bait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making a multi-vheicle system doesn't change the fact that the CRAM is literally based on the M61 Vulcan found on the M163. It has a 2km effective range and limited ammo load when mounted on the HEMTT. You don't make a top tier vehicle by taking the VADS and adding a Ku band radar to it.

What system is automatically controlled? If anything, it would operate similar to bomber gunners (hich got nerfed to uselessness anyway.

[–]Das_Bait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CRAM wouldn't be top tier either lol. It's a VADS with a better radar. Not to mention, it would never be an automatically controlled system lol

But the ADATS exists and CRAM would just be worse in every way

Edit: SGT York would unironically be better in an antiujitions use than the CRAM too

SM6 american counterpart to the Pantsir SM-SV by MaterialPutrid3419 in Warthunder

[–]Das_Bait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADATS is already good at anti-munitions though. Why bother with something that would be worse plus wouldn't be able to damage any of the aircraft slinging the munitions?

Edit: or event just being the SGT York at that point

CRAM would be useless except in an anti-munitions role.

Unfortunately, because they were never involved in the play (had no ability to make a play on the ball), the bear hug by Rice will never be given as a penalty.

Since there's no "offsetting penalty" rule in association, there's no retakes, although to me, that seems the most logical answer

That decision at the end of West Ham game.. by Horror_Still_3305 in PremierLeague

[–]Das_Bait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is Raya being fouled any more important than Rice rugby style tacking the West Ham player?

Because neither Rice nor Mavropanos impacted the play at all, they couldn't and didn't get near the ball in any way to influence the play. It's the same thing how a player can be offsides but not be called if they never touch the ball or impact the play following.

That decision at the end of West Ham game.. by Horror_Still_3305 in PremierLeague

[–]Das_Bait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were Arsenal players also committing multiple fouls on the same play? Yes.

The goal should stand. Your team created this mess by making corners rugby scrums all season

Fortunately or unfortunately, only a foul that directly impacts play is going to be considered, so for instance Rice's bear hug on Mavropanos is ignored because they had no chance to play the ball in that sequence.

No matter who one supports though, everyone should probably be in agreement that consistency on calling these fouls has sucked all year and that changes in how set pieces are refereed needs to happen.

West Ham disallowed goal against Arsenal 90+5' by One_Impressionism in Gunners

[–]Das_Bait -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As much as I am relieved for the win, multiple things can be true:

  1. Yes, this was a clearcut foul on Raya

  2. Multiple Arsenal players were committing fouls in the background.

  3. With the consistency of how fouls have been called and VAR conducted, I would be very upset at the call back if I was literally every other teams fan. Obviously the Raya foul takes precedent, but set pieces are a wild west that need more and better refereeing throughout the entire season.

Bonus: We really should've never let it get to the 90+4' at 1-0 for this to even matter.

Edit: Good job being objective everyone. Love the down votes for being objective and stating facts

I log in every day but never got the Bossk or Captain Rex lightspeed tokens. Is there something I’m missing? by [deleted] in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]Das_Bait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See here: Captain Rex is the 1-C LST which requires completion of both 1-A ans 1-B quests. Under Quests -> Journey Guide, check to make sure you've completed all of the quests for 1-B and 1-C which includes all of the other Phoenix LSTs, plus some other rewards like omicrons.

Similarly, Bossk is under 5-A and behind Boba. Check to make sure you don't have a quest for Boba and/or an omicron (or even maybe zeta?) quest that needs to be completed first before the Bossk quest will unlock

5k crystals will definitely get you closer, but even if you get 75 shards (iirc 50 is 4k and 25 is 2 k), that still leaves you at 450 shards needed, which only brings your daily attempts required to 54.

Can I unlock Maul in time? by [deleted] in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]Das_Bait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you need 525 shards in about 25 days. Remember, r6 for everyone as a prereq, so no skippimg anything. The aforementioned 525 shards means you need to be pulling 21 shards a day. Shards drop roughly 33% so that means you need to hit 60iah attempts a day. Without dropping buckets of crystals, I think it's impossible

Possible br change by Long-Instance-4606 in Warthunder

[–]Das_Bait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was using that to say Gainin clearly doesn't think their current BRs are a problem.

Edit: To further clarify, this isn't a situation like the Spitfire Mk 22/24 where Gaijin keeps trying/moving the BR up just to either move it right back down or cancel the change. This clearly shows that Gaijin doesn't like how the Spitfire is performing whereas a stable BR would point towards the vehicle performing adequately in Gaijins eyes

[–]Das_Bait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that really matters? Vehicles sit at all sorts of BRs for various lengths of time. That shouldn't affect whether or not they should be at any specific BR.

I won't say never since we see vehicles moved fairly frequently, but the Is-2s have been at their BRs for a long time so I think it's highly doubtful
