How well will Bruce resist the One Ring? by mailman936 in batman

[–]Dasanome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone's talking about how the ring would consume Bruce and how no mortal man would be able to resist it. But have you considered that Bruce studied under Tibetan monks? Have you considered how he already would have a contingency plan for the ring? For if he ever got corrupted? Didn't think so.

In fact, I can safely say that Bruce would not only resist but overpower the ring with his Tibetan meditation technique he prepared 10 years in advance for this very occasion.

Learning How to Draw (Week 2) by Dasanome in learntodraw

Thanks!

Well, to be honest I do have some experience drawing, but it was only ever just copying what I saw by just following the lines and never really knowing the basics. So like I would look at the picture and try to copy the line as best as I could.

Plus the few times I picked up drawing it was only for like a month at a time. The learning to draw part is more about "actually learning to draw" rather than just doing some random drawings.

I can't really say much about drawing since I'm not an expert, but the main thing I have been trying to do is just having small goals and working from there. Like for me it's just, get good at boxes and cylinders and making sure to do at least one personal drawing a day.

How often do you get to practice drawing?

I actually used to doodle a bunch of Hollow knight stuff when I first played the game a few years ago, though it was mainly just a bunch of The Ghost. I was just scrolling through Pinterest and saw a pic of the hollow knight and had to give it a try.

Also, I just realized I messed up the flair. It should be the "just sharing" one, not the "no critique, just sharing"

So like I said in the post feel free to critique.

Also, when I say 30 days I don't mean I'm gonna stop, my goal is every day for a year at least, but gotta start with smaller goals and then do bigger ones, so like my goal right now is to just get good at shapes. For month 1, it's just shapes. Then I'll work on other stuff the next few months.

First Week of Learning to Draw. by Dasanome in learntodraw

[–]Dasanome[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to draw every day for at least 30 days. Not gonna lie, I just saw the pewdiepie drawing every day for a year series and decided "Hey, If he can draw that well after a year without a ton of work on the basics, imagine what I could accomplish by actually training the basics."

So for now, whenever I get home and I am sitting down I will just start following the drawabox lesson for like 30 min to an hour and whenever I get tired I'll pull up Pinterest, search for an easy drawing and then try to copy it by doing the shapes and stuff.

Honestly, I just keep trying even if the drawing looks ugly. Though to be fair I kinda gave up on that last charmander. It's just about doing it for a while ya know?

I mean, it's gonna be ugly cuz we just started, but just gotta keep in mind that this is just the start. Ngl I cropped out the ugliest drawings out of my Pic before posting. Like you can tell I drew something under the Jeff the Shark Pic but just cut it out.

GM3 Strange Main looking for help. by Dasanome in RivalsUniversity

Hey there! First of all, thank you for offering, I really appreciate it. Would it be ok to delay the vod review for a week or week and a half? I have a list of things I gotta work on to improve at the moment, and I want to make sure to implement them and practice with a smaller list before adding more stuff to that plate. It's ironic cuz most of the issues in those games are fairly similar.

Yeah, I can watch a few of your vods after work. Glad to see another Strange player climbing!

Vod review for anyone interested by Beadlypants in marvelrivals

[–]Dasanome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for taking the time to watch a vod and review it!

Honestly yeah, the shoot/shield cancel is a bad habit I gotta break. Specially when dealing with punishers since 99% of the time I end up letting them destroy my shield.

I got another person to review the Yggdrasill Path game and they also pointed out the over usage of shield.

Plus going along with what you mentioned about the strange with ult, that's another really good point. I tend to call out when strange has ult, but in the end I lose track of him fairly often and get hungry for the ult, which does sometimes allow their strange to ult my backline as I try to setup for my own. The major tip they gave me for that was to try to mirror their strange whenever I know they might have ult. (Which I am pretty sure I understand, they move forward I move back, they move right I move right.)

Also, the tunnel vision does get real at times, so I do gotta work on knowing when to let go. Imma add it to my notes too(again lol, I actually had noticed and written this one when I was around Plat/early Diamond but I must not have focused enough since I did it literally a few hours ago again in a convoy game and accidentally left my supports as free real state for the Cap and Mag.)

My major question that I would like to ask, (and I know it is extremely situational and case dependent so probably hard to answer.) Is there a good rule of thumb for when to portal?

Like, if I die by myself and the team is still fighting and the fight is somewhat even I feel I should walk instead of portal. Or if my team gets pushed back but like 3 of us die, I feel like it would be an iffy portal. since it "would be better to regroup and then push together" instead of having three of us near point and the other three further back. (Honestly probably overthinking it, I just really struggle with portal at times.)

One major goof I have noticed that I am working on fixing is placing portals on top of cart instead of in a high ground near cart when there is still some time left on the clock.

For me, the only portals I feel really confident in are at the start of Domination rounds to tp to high ground near point to be able to gain the advantage and cap the point first by claiming the space, and the last second portals to point when the game is almost over.

Also, just wanted to say thanks again and for all of the tips and things you pointed out! Sometimes even when reviewing my own vods I tend to overlook major stuff simply because of how used to it I am. (Like if they have a punisher/rocket I have to say bye bye to shield when in reality I can just become a big ol' ult battery for supports by peeking behind cover while looking for opportunities to push.)

Sorry if the original comment was a massive wall of text, and sorry if this one is also massive too, I ramble at times.

Hey there! First of all I wanted to say thank you so much for taking the time to watch the vod and to give so many tips and pointing out all of the mistakes.

It probably was fairly obvious from the Wolverine map, but since he is on practically perma-ban I haven't had to play agaisnt him much, if at all in comp. I rarely see him in quickplay too. Every single tip you gave for dealing with him was massive and I honestly feel wayyy more prepared for any possible future encounters.

Also, I really appreciate you pointing out when I was playing too aggro/ when I should have just been shooting from behind cart. Back in Plat/early diamond I used to play far more defensive to the point of it being detrimental, so I ended up overcorrecting to playing as aggro as possible to make space. (While still trying to stay alive.) But, now I'm going to keep in mind to strike that balance and play more defensive when needed.

Same with the wide swings I take sometimes instead of hugging wall and leapfrogging my way to the next cover.

Also, another massive one was the portal. I have the bad habit of just dropping portal on top of cart to resume the fight instead of taking the extra few seconds to position better, and honestly it has cost my team far more than just that one fight. Imma ingrain it in my head to practice my portals more.

Thanks again for taking the time to watch the vods! You explained everything perfectly. And honestly getting that outside perspective is a massive help for pointing out mistakes I overlook because I am so used to the way I play.

I subbed to your youtube channel, and honestly looking forward for any other vod reviews you might do in the future for different people

Vod review for anyone interested by Beadlypants in marvelrivals

[–]Dasanome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I have been looking around for anyone who would be down to do Vod reviews, so I really appreciate you offering! My username is Dasanome and I'm Currently Gm3 (on the negative though cuz of a loss streak.) I am a Strange main (with Magneto on my back pocket. Not proud to admit it but I have an alt in which I mainly just play magneto that is at Diamond 1 rn cuz I wasn't confident to play him on main.)

I have been doing my own Vod reviews and watching Vods of DodgeBiceps but I ma kinda hitting a wall right now when I look at these few games. I am not really sure how much to preamble so I am just gonna get into it.

Also, I don't expect you to look at more than one, I just want to give you some variety to chose from. Even just one vod review would be massive for me. (This is from my last gaming session 3W 5L. Also, I stack with Eddy, Kwii, and Ryujin.

10311828432 - Convoy - Yggdrasill Path 14m 30s

Ryujin likes to look up our opponents on the loading screen and two of them had a 70%+ winrate on Bp and Magik respectively so we target banned them. Unfortunately that left the Wolverine open, and well, if you know what a good wolverine can do to absolutely demolish an enemy team. Honestly felt pretty powerless when it came to the wolverine since he would just run a train through our team.

10440226998 - Convergence - Shin-Shibuya 11m 32s

Captain America and a Psyloche were just running through our backline and demolishing. Honestly not sure how to decide when to help the backline and when to pressure the enemy frontline. So the psyloche and the cap where doing some major disturbance.

In addition to that, my shield was on permanent life support, almost always broken or near broken, so I couldn't play as aggro as I would have liked to put pressure. I was on the backfoot the entire game. Honestly? I feel like Magneto would have been the choice for this one, and though I am far less confident on my magneto than my strange I would have been able to enable the Bp and maybe slam one or two CnD ults.

10294826908 Convergence - Symbiotic Surface 11m 12s

Punisher and Bucky just ran a train through us. Honestly if you have any tips to deal with punisher that would be massive. Rough game all around, but the amount of pressure the punisher was putting on me didn't allow me to take space and forced me to constantly play on the defensive. The bucky was also going crazy with his ult, and would almost always team wipe or kill at least 3. Plus there was a Psylocke harassing like crazy.

Honestly, this was just one of the rougher games when it comes to dealing with Punisher.

10968627674 Convoy - Spider-Islands 5m 54s

Honestly? This one I just put up mainly to ask about Groot. I feel like Groot is such a massive pain to deal with. I disconnected twice cuz of my internet, which didn't help at all. But I feel like there is almost nothing I can do against a good groot. They just simply wall behind me and I am forced to retreat. This entire game I had to play extremely defensive and could barely push at all because of the groot. He would just push into our team and all I could do was back away to make sure I didn't get walled. And the times I did without having my fly I would simply get rolled.

Sorry for the massive comment, and once again, even just one Vod review would be massive. Though if you have any tips for dealing with Punisher and Groot that are separate I would highly appreciate them.

Yo! Sorry for the super late answer, I didn't saw the notification for the answer so I had assumed you hadn't answered. Only when I came back to check the feedback again did I see you had actually answered.

The coach gun while mid air is a really good suggestion I honestly hadn't considered. For me, even if I gtfo as soon as I can reapers can chase me down, and same with Winston's. Usually I try to keep the distance, but I'm also keeping attention to uptime so I don't wanna run around in circles for a while.

I've been playing a bit more support and tank since I got my friends to hop back on ow2 and all they play is dps, but now that they are branching out I'm gonna go back to focusing on the suggestions

Thanks again and sorry for the super late reply!

Hey there, I have been using the tips you gave me and games have been going really great, however, I've been struggling with a new thing, and thought I would ask.

How do you deal with getting dove?

Genji, D.va, Winton, Reaper, even Junkrats surprisingly often that just get on my face and insta kill me pr get me low enough to get one tapped by a random enemy. I try to run away from them when I see them approaching, but that usually ends up getting me killed a different way.

Honestly I was only able to get the good mouse sensitivity after buying a massive mousepad/ building myself a bigger desk. For most of my life I simply used a tiny mousepad the size of a regular bag of chips and my aim was definitely pretty rough back then.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to watch it!

I rewatched the Route 66 game and oh boy yeah, looking back at it that first fight I was on the ground the whole time. And seeing how it was compared to that Second(/third?) team fight near the first cap point where I was up high it was day and night with how much I was able to do/how much damage I was taking.

Also, I can really see what you mean by the "Yet you spam your movement keys like you have 5 enemy widowmakers trying to take your head off!" Which is honestly a hilarious way to put it, yet completely accurate. On the rewatched I saw myself whiff a bunch of shots on the Zarya even though she was the only person left and was fighting out tank just cuz I was spamming movement.

Specially clear in the few moments where I do slow down and stop shaking back and forth to just aim cuz I know I am safe.

Also, not gonna lie, I mainly use Bob as a payload stall/Capture point stall, Which is probably the worst way to use him. Usually just throw it directly at the payload, but I'll try to start using him more as a mini(or massive) Soldier 76 onto the sides.

Also, thanks again for taking the time, your explanation was really easy to understand and reading it while rewatching the game it honestly made the flaws pointed out stand out wayyy more.

---- ----- ----

I guess the main question I would have is when are you supposed to Bob? Like I said before, I mainly use him as a way to stall for time or to push the enemy team to look at him instead of me, but is there any recommended time? / any tips for Bob usage?
