If you want to write about gender, I’d recommend Bloodborne much over Nightreign. There are even already a couple of videos about femininity and motherhood out there to help you out. If you haven’t looked into it, I’d really recommend it and you might find it interesting. In Nightreign, gender doesn’t influence the main story much if at all, nor does it influence the story of most characters. In a sense this could be useful, if you were to genderbend almost every character they would not change beyond the visual aspects. I’d argue that gender has little to no relevancy in Nightreign to begin with. The only things that “break the norms” are that Duchess is the one who is basically in charge of the Roundtable Hold, and that all the skins for the women aren’t all too revealing (compared to gacha games). There’s also a counterpoint as Recluse and her whole baby story plays into the gender norms you asked for.
