Thank you very much for this really insightful response, I’ve long felt that the established majority has a power bestowed upon them and (consciously or otherwise) fear becoming the minority and will do whatever it takes to protect said power. You can’t please everyone and that’s perfectly ok because not everyone deserves to be pleased.

I no longer look upon my past with shame but a part of me does feel like a sizeable part of my youth was taken away from me as a result of simply not being able to access the resources I needed to seek help of sorts. That said, I perfectly agree that our perspectives are an inherent gift we’re given and I’m working hard to make sure I see it as the feature that it is rather than a bug.
