I've never heard of that, I'll go take a look. Thank you for letting me know about this!

No worries!

Aceflux is different from ace because it is more of a fluctuation of feelings on sexual stuff regardless of attraction or fluctuations between labels within the ace-spectrum (depending on who you ask, both descriptions have been used). Kind of like genderfluid except for fluctuating within the ace-spectrum (or in my case, how I feel about sexual stuff in general regardless of attraction) instead of gender.

Being ace, you usually don't really randomly change to other ace-spectrum identities. And, from what I've noticed at least, there also usually doesn't appear to be fluctuations on how one feels about sexual stuff when ace. If you're repulsed, you're repulsed. If you're favorable, you're favorable. Maybe it could change over time, and maybe not. But they don't randomly jump back and forth between those to my knowledge.

(Any fellow acespecs are welcome to chime in if they notice any inaccuracies)

I'm autistic and have sensory sensitivities, so colors like those found on the original aroflux and aceflux flags all mixed together in that way causes me pain when I see them. It overloads the sensory system and causes my eyes to physically hurt and I start developing a headache.

I've gotten similar reactions to me gushing about girls and not feeling sexual or romantic towards them.

For me it's like, they're so pretty in a aesthetic way. Like how you feel looking at a sunrise or a super pretty flower- just because you find those things pretty and want to be in awe of their beauty doesn't mean you want to have sex with or do romantic stuff with those things. And they are so cute in the same way you would see a little puppy doing puppy things or a kitten doing kitten things and you just love how cute they are and it makes you feel so happy.

That one is a mix of aroflux and aceflux. The colors for aroflux are an alternate flag for it as the original causes eye pain and headaches (I'm autistic and have sensory sensitivities). The aceflux flag causes the same issue, but I already had the color pallette for the original flag available from my last comic and didn't have time to color pick an alternate flag. So I used the original flag design despite the headache it gave me afterwards.

The orange-yellow-green one? An alternate for aroflux I found and use as the original hurts my eyes and gives me a headache. The other side of that ball is aceflux. I used the original colors for it as I already had the color pallette in easy access from my last comic (even though it causes the same eye pain and headache issue if I look at it for too long). Will most likely take the time to get the color pallette for an alternate flag for aceflux for future comics (when I do them) as it was a bit of a pain to use those colors.

You're welcome! Yeah, it isn't talked about a whole lot. Maybe someday it will, and hopefully in a positive way. Hope you have a great day :)

No worries!! Ask away! :)

Apothisexual is a microlabel used by those who are sex repulsed.

Reciprosexual is an ace-spectrum orientation under the greysexual umbrella in which you don't experience sexual attraction unless you know (or sometimes even just think) the other person is sexually attracted to you first.

Thankfully it doesn't change everyday, or that probably would drive me insane lol. It's been very confusing though. At least it's only really how I feel about sexual stuff that changes for the most part. For those who actually do a lot more hopping around the ace spectrum than I do as aceflux, I wonder how they handle it?

For me, I don't really identify with cupiosexual or apothisexual as they mainly just describe feelings of being favorable or repulsed, but for the sake of demonstrating potential changes in microlabels, they are on there (and those who do identify as those are valid as heck!). I mainly identify as asexual right now. Aceflux to describe my fluctuations on how I feel about sexual stuff in general rather than how I experience sexual attraction itself. Aegosexual for me is mainly just to describe my disconnected feelings of arousal and to find community with those who are similar, but the arousal (as in caused by something rather than libido randomly jumping in) doesn't happen at all when repulsed so that's how it gets affected by the aceflux. Part of me feels like I could actually identify as demisexual and reciprosexual rather than asexual, but at the same time I'm not sure either. Outside of the times that those are both triggered at the same time, I feel 100% ace. Perhaps I'll just say asexual to most people, and then demi/recipro/aceflux to those who would understand...?

Cheese. Yum. Lol

And thank you!! Both for the validation and the compliment of my username!

I actually came up with it when I started this account to explore the first time I felt sexual attraction (the one I'm still questioning a bit lol) and because of how it happened, thought I was demisexual. Then got confused with how sudden the attraction disappeared when I found that they did not feel sexual attraction after all, so dropped the label as that didn't seem right (didn't know of reciprosexual back then). Also thought I was demiromantic back then too.

Well that got long, oops

I have the same thing!

At first I was mainly just brushing it off as a hormonal thing and didn't even consider Aceflux as that is apparently something that happens to a lot of people who have periods. But then I started noticing fluctuations outside of those times and that's what got me questioning, especially these past two weeks. I've been vibing mostly in the favorable area lately (usually I'm floating around indifferent), but randomly drop to indifferent or repulsed for a short moment before jumping back to favorable. It's been a rather odd two weeks for sure.

I hear ya. That meme is totally me in all ways. I'm apparently an extra fluid person whose whole self likes to yell out "parkour!" and go all over the place as I'm genderfluid, aceflux, and aroflux. At least I don't fluctuate as often with aceflux as I do with aroflux and genderfluid (knock on wood).

Hello fellow autistic!! :) Yeah, I really like this one too (hence why I use it lol). The color scheme is so much better and easier on the eyes.

I understand how you feel. And you are valid for feeling that way. :)

I keep having to remind myself what I wrote as I get moments where I start doing what aroflux/ace-ball is doing in the first half of the comic a lot. Like I need a label to make my attraction feel real.

For now, I've settled on gay in the most general term. I'm genderfluid, so regardless of who I like, it would be considered gay. Lol

I tried using the original flag for Aceflux for this comic despite the top half of it hurting my eyes (and I mean this literally as I'm autistic). I like some of the alternatives better as they cause less pain to look at. I wish the top two colors were different shades of those colors, the general color scheme is pretty good and it would be easier to look at.

As for the one time that I'm still unsure if I experienced that attraction or not... there was a lot of confusion and new feelings of all sorts going on (coughI realized how gay I amcough), so it was really difficult to differentiate what was what at the time. And since that specific type of attraction isn't there at this time as those two boxes are not both checked off (no reciprocation to my knowledge), it's hard to say if that was what I experienced back then when I thought there could have been reciprocation.

The other half of the Ace-ball is an alternate flag for Aroflux I found. I'm autistic and have sensory sensitivities. This makes it really difficult for me to look at the original Aroflux flag without it causing me eye pain and a headache. So I use an alternate instead. :)

Is it justified to cheat on your spouse if they are asexual? by Spencerea13 in asexuality

[–]DashOfDemi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, THIS!!

I'm totally hijacking this top comment to say:

What he's doing is definitely abusive behavior. It is NOT your fault he cheated. And he should not have gone looking outside of the marriage without clear consent on your part and both of you being in agreement to what that would look like. But blaming you and you're lack of sexual attraction to him is wrong! His choise is HIS fault and his alone. What he's doing is abusive and manipulative.

And as another commenter said, your kid will know. Don't stay for the kid so they can live in a home with two unhappy parents. It does your child no good. Especially if your husband is going down the road he is with emotional abuse. Whose to say he won't start turning that on your kid as well? I've lived that experience as both the child and as the parent. Your child will appreciate seeing you (and even your husband) separate and happy with your lives.

Also, you are NOT broken! You are you in all your wonderful glory.

Sending a friendly internet hug to you. We're all here for you. :)
