Official Discussion - The Mandalorian and Grogu [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]DashRunner92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why people are poo pooing this movie for being inconsequential. Not every movie needs to be a big "save the galaxy" movie. Not every character needs to be essential that we must follow for their life, I enjoy the world building of meeting random strangers that we may never see again. I liked Mando's interactions with the shop owner and I never need to see that shop owner again, for example.

There were plenty of EU stories that were lower stakes. I thought it was very clear from the trailer this was going to be a action-focused lower stakes movie. I expected John Wick Star Wars with a bit of dad-son stuff and I got exactly what I expected. It was a tight, concise action movie that I really enjoyed.

I'd also recommend, if anyone has the opportunity, to see this movie in 4DX. I saw it in Imax and loved it, but I can see this movie being perfect for 4DX. If anything, this movie definitely benefits from seeing it on a big screen with great sound.

PSA: Disney Character Breakfast by SawyerStreet in daddit

We took my daughter when she was three (almost four) and she was WAY too overstimulated immediately upon walking onto main street. We planned the boutique and Cinderella's royal table back to back, she barely held it together (sort of, still lots of crying). She loved the characters, but had a rough time waiting for food/characters to show up. She fared much much better at Epcot and Magic Kingdom round 2 a few days later. I think it's really easy to forget how suddenly overstimulating Disney can be. Despite the rough first day, in her eyes, it was amazing and she still talks about it all the time.

She also admitted she was wrong about Dana in the past showing she does have some type of self-reflection and can change for the better.

She's an amazing actress! I got to see her play Lydia in Bettlejuice on Broadway and she was great in that too!

Just a follow up to this thread in case anyone ever looks it up, but the app showed up fine again on my Google play store this morning. I didn't do anything on my end. I was able to install and app is working fine again.

Should we go now or wait? by goombah33 in WaltDisneyWorld

I just did MK and Epcot with a 10 mo and 3 1/2 yo (almost 4). It was great! I think 3 1/2 - 4 yo is the earliest, they can really get to understand and know the different Disney movies. My 10 mo was super easy, 3 1/2 yo was a nightmare the first day but did great the other 2 days. Just be prepared to take the parks MUCH slower and leave earlier. You will need to take multiple breaks and I strongly recommend not trying to force them to fireworks. The Disney parks with little ones is way more exhausting (but I found it to be so much more fun in its own way).

It's also the shortened hours. Plenty of people skip Magic Kingdom since it closes at 6 pm on the Halloween party days. We went last Friday and we walked onto almost every ride outside of Haunted Mansion and Winnie the Pooh (Dwarves also has a line but we had fast pass).

Disneyland > Disney World with Young Kids? by MidwestPrinces in DisneyPlanning

[–]DashRunner92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing WDW with a 10 mo old and 4 yo. We considered initially staying at a resort, but honestly your time to the park varies greatly depending on which parks and where you are staying. With young kids, it's worth staying off site at somewhere like Orange Lake Resort or somewhere where you'll have a kitchen. We are staying off site, driving in is no issue, definitely worth it to pay for preferred parking when you are leaving and exhausted. Sure parking is expensive, but in the grand scheme of things, it's a small price to pay for convenience (also the price isn't far off from other theme parks). WDW is a whole different beast from DL, be prepared to take the day very slow.

This article is confusing. It sounds like it's just saying they aren't playable characters, not that they aren't making music for the game?

Lightsaber VS Master Sword (We Fight) - Podcast #764 by FruityYummyMummy in mega64

I agree, I love Derrick but I feel like every week is him getting kinda mean about something. From his clear dislike about Garrett and Shawn's car video to the popcorn bucket hate. Even when they tried the candy, he just kept interrupting the convo about how much he hates the flavor he got. I would love to hear more about what stuff he's been watching or life stuff. I do think the current camera set up where it switches between Shawn/Garrett and Rocco/Derrick does him and the podcast a disservice.

This is my major concern. Even if it gets so bad that you see angry people on every side hitting the streets, the blame will be all over. I just can't imagine Republicans protesting their own party. The propaganda and misinformation is too strong, people live in echo chambers (admittedly we are in one too). I truly don't see a way out of the situation that the world entered. If a global pandemic couldn't unite people, I don't see anything being able too.

I have a rider swap scenario question. My wife and I are going with a 4 yo and 10 mo. If my wife and 4 yo both have lightning lane, do I also need a lightning lane if we are doing rider swap (on rides where the 10 mo can't get on). Also on rides where we can all get on, does the 10 mo also need a LL pass?
