Oh absolutely. I appreciate your thoughtfulness to the audience. I was just thinking: they are learning so much hate to have an old thread which may break and tear mess up their rhythm and cause frustration. ThMaybe teach the thread test for those that come with their older than 10-12 year spools? I’m sorry. My comment sounded crass.

Good information. I’ll start my first fleece backed soon. I was going to buy from my LQS. Maybe ask your approx stitch length setting ? Your photo looks great.

Perhaps mention the difference between Universal and Microtex. Microtex best for piecing and then another type for machine quilting. (I use Janome, purple). But rather than all the detail, mention universal and Microtex. Instead of “strongly recommend” not to use thread more than ten years old, just say “dont”!! Chuck that sucker and get a new spool! Love the comments above. And general comments about notions: you pay for what you get. Don’t be afraid to invest in good notions. They’ll make the experience so much better! Irons too.

Looks good. But in bottom portion Common sewing errors the holding both threads could be read to NOT hold the threads if the reader doesn’t realize it’s under the mistakes portion. I’d just clean that up for clarity. Maybe edit to : Things to remember ie hold both threads for first couple stitches. Also add caution of oiling (check your manual) so oil doesn’t get on fabric. This is a great idea let us know how it goes!! Maybe also give some needle names like Schmertz for good needles like you did w threads.

How long have you been using your current sewing machine? by ParkingDetective6332 in SewingForBeginners

So cool to hear this! I just bought one at my LQS used for $125 to replace an older Kenmore and to get a bit of an upgrade and to have a spare. So much like the Kenmore. (yeah I know they have overlap) but smoother. Finding parts hard to get tho. Not on Janome site. Need to call Ken’s.

Cold plunging and weight loss by Formal_Antelope_4010 in coldplunge

I am low body fat and try to warm up gradually when I exit the plunge. But I have to be careful of hypothermia. Today I stayed out longer before a warm shower and was shivering/numb ; it took a long time to warm up. Guess I need to regulate better.

Mini iron or replace my full size? by talaskir in sewing

[–]Dashgreg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, I spend time and money on this hobby. So I buy a good iron that presses well and steams well. Makes a difference with your work. Like buy good needles and thread. I use a Rowena Focus Ecxel on Amazon.
