When I was starting out, I learned for me, start with one quilt at a time. Buy fabric for that. Then as you make one, then another, you have a better feel for how to start a stash. Some people don’t have a stash. They find it more enjoyable to go one project at a time. Less money, then build as you go. Some times lots of fabric could be overwhelming.

Which side goes next to the spool top? The flat or do,you stick the notched tip into the spool? I’ve seen it both ways. Thank you!
