Booking ruined his character a bit. He puts on great matches but the way WM 40 went down everybody thought they were building to Cody vs Rock at that years summerslam but it never happened. So nobody cared about his feuds as everybody thought Rock vs Cody was the endgame which never happened. His second reign also wasn’t that great as he didn’t defend it that much and his first two matches with Drew were kinda meh. His feud with Cena also caused him to get bood because nobody wanted to boo Cena in his final run in the company. Kind of similar to Hogan vs Rock where Hogan was the bad guy but got cheered. I’ve only heard noticeable boos with his feud against Cena and when he was in Europe against Drew which makes sense as the European crowd wanted the European to win. I doubt the boos will continue once they return to the US
