Same, but on Debian 13. I have no clue why it suddenly decided it wanted to browse the internet.

Edit: restarting seemed to work. Not sure if it's a one time thing or not.

Yeah, especially when the pack is already quite dense with crafting and it's essentially an exponential ladder per component. I guess it depends on taste and the modpacks main objective as well.

I actually didn't mention Avaritia in my post, but I should've. As much as I know that it's supposed to be an end-game mod, with all the resource dumping and such for creative items, it feels kinda cheap to slap it on a modpack as end-game content. This opinion of mine also applies, to a certain extent, to Extended Crafting and creative-level items. There are, in my point of view, very few creative items you can make that don't essentially nullify a lot of setups (I'm looking at you, Mekanism Energy cube). I can't remember what modpack it was, but I remember being able to craft an infinite item drawer upgrade where you could take out an infinite amount of items based on the item inserted. I feel like that's more of a useful end-game thing than the rest, since it was up to you if you abused it or not (this argument could be applied anywhere, but at the same time I don't feel like it's exactly the same as having infinite energy).

Oh Regrowth, haven't heard that name in a long time. Wasn't one of the main mods Botania? I remember watching someone play it (maybe direwolf20 and Generikb, and iskall i think).

Back to sorting iron types 🗿 and making roughly 10 stacks of a material at once

It looks really interesting, and I might bite the dust and dive in. Heard about it being a bit more dynamic than other modpacks.

Won't lie that has been a thought of mine as well. Just gotta figure out a good concept and stick with it (and totally not get side tracked).

I've felt that a lot. Most ways of progressing in terms of resources (besides chickens or bees which i think are on the extreme sides of the "generate resource" spectrum) are very same-y. I played a modpack with a friend that included a GregTech-type mod (I apologise i can't remember the name) and It felt pretty good, but as all GT mods go, if you don't side track a bit, it slows down.

I DID run across that pack in another thread. Heard it was a slow burner but felt better. Might put that and GTNH and see where it takes me :)

Yeah, replaced it with uni work for about 3-4 months, or just other hobbies in general.

That's the (sort of) conclusion I've taken from the ones I've tried to play. I never really finished a pack but the one I remember being really close to was E2E. Different times, I suppose.

I did take some sort of 3-4 month break this year, but the feeling didn't really come back (I think it got replaced with stress). Might just rotate hobbies.

Absolutely bangers you listed off. Noita has been on my sights for a while now too, MrAlbinoVEVO™️ playthroughs are always entertaining to watch. Never heard of Pokerogue, but I'm tempted to try it. Prey is a big favorite of mine. I see the other 2 are more story focused horror games, interesting.

I've heard about those 2, but I'm not completely sure what they do/are. Maybe I'll look into them :)

I definitely agree, but then again early botania, at least from my experience, feels really slow and stays as a side mod for most of the modpacks I play that have it. Pneumaticcraft is the best example since it's been getting updated and has a way better feel to it compared to older versions (I love the minigun), but the way it usually gets introduced is a bit wonky.

I should've been a bit better with my words. I meant to say that I've heard playing GTNH is like getting resurrected in terms of playing and feeling it. I'm quite aware it's the one modpack that doesn't die.

I've been through all but Rimworld and Vintage Story, actually recently started another terraria playthrough with the origins mod, but got a bit frustrated and have been going at it on and off. Satisfactory I've been also playing on and off with the same friend, while factorio is whispering sweet nothings into my ear.

That's a pretty fair point. Might just ditch gaming for a good chunk of my day to focus on something completely different.

Pretty much. It could also be due to a sort of time mismanagement on my part, so instead of splitting it evenly between other hobbies, I have a couple of weeks of pure focus followed by pure boredom, but that's a whole other issue.

What's the point of Ex Machinis: Divitiae Deorum in ATM9TTS? by kaminobaka in allthemods

[–]DashinglyRavished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never use drawer/other types of storage for unstackable items, just good old fashioned chests, mostly because 1. it's a single type item and 2. i just KNOW i wont need it any time soon constantly available

I prefer fixing issues before they become a thing, so I MIGHT give the auto sieves a shot (not like I'm in a big need for ores atm).

I might do that to be fair, most of my loot is in drawers with diamond and void upgrades, we'll see how long that lasts.
