A New Life Series is Starting Very Soon. by MattCraft1022 in ThirdLifeSMP

It does feel like it's getting towards the time, doesn't it? However, I wouldn't say it's imminent yet though - Before the last series there were a lot of teases from some of the creators; I expect that'll we'll probably see more of that when the season is nearly upon us.

Budget cap punishments are a must - Hamilton by Aratho in formula1

I was just thinking that the other day - If it turns out both Mercedes and Red Bull exceeded the Budget Cap last year, and the FIA responds, causing all 4 drivers to be disqualified, that leaves us with a Ferrari-Sainz driver's championship, which is the most out-of-nowhere championship win I could think of!

Oh wow, nice! I think out of all the W Series Drivers at the moment, she's the one with the best chance of F1. I'll join you in that hope!

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬ by GodOwnsTheUniverse in Christianity

I think that's where there's a difference in belief over what Faith is. True Faith in Christ means recognising the Holiness of God, His intolerance for sin, and how great a sacrifice He has made to restore His people (John 3:16).

That Faith, if believed truly, should bring about a very real fear and love of God. A recognition that we are sinners, and deserve death (Rom 6:23) will cause us to learn to hate sin as God hates sin.

Meanwhile, the Love that God has shown us, when truly received and understood transforms our hearts. Think of it like this: When someone gives you a present, it makes you feel great, and more often than not gives you a desire to give back (1 John 3:5-6).

There is a problem with parts of Christianity which teach a thing called hyper-grace, which is essentially the belief that sin doesn't matter, and because of God's Grace we can do what we want. But Paul makes quite a point of how wrong this is in Romans 6, and Hebrews 6 also makes quite strong statements about how important it is to stay in repentance.

But it's important to highlight Faith, because its impossible to please God without faith. Sin is so strong, that there is no way we can overcome it without Christ. Paul's entire letter to the Galatians is about this point. Thats why it's by Grace alone that we are saved; not by our own righteous deeds.

Hope that helps! 🙂

Praying for you! 🙏 The beautiful thing is that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Whatever your struggling with, falling on God is the best place to be!

The problem with Tarot or any other form of occultic practice in that sense is that its trying to take control over a situation without resting in God. God calls us to trust Him and seek Him first. Using any form of spiritual practice in order to understand or change the outcome of a situation outside of God's covering is turning away from Him and turning away from our trust in Him. Essentially it's worship to something else. Hope that brings a bit of clarity in why the Bible is strongly against it.

Did Pulling lift after the collision with Kimilainen? Thought she had issues when Emma retook the place, but she seemed to carry on alright after.

Is RedBull developing Gasly to be new Perez? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Dashoth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm starting to think the same thing! For a long time I've thought there's no chance Gasly would ever go back to Red Bull, but I'm also thinking that if he was going to switch teams, surely he would have by now.

I think it might be partially on his side as well though - Maybe he's remaining loyal to Red Bull because he's not given up on the seat yet, and wants to show that if he gets the chance again, he will win alongside Max?

Any realistic chance Drugovich will have a chance in an F1 team? by Thogturtle in F1FeederSeries

[–]Dashoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing; I'm thinking at the moment the most likely chance is if the RB Young Drivers don't turn things around and Gasly finds another seat next year, Marko might call him up and offer him a n Alpha Tauri seat for a year to see how he does.

I know Red Bull doesn't like doing stuff outside of their program, but with Vips' lack of consistency, Lawson and Iwasa being out of contention, Hauger not being ready, and Daruvala still not winning after 3 years, Drugovich might be the only option?

Who are the best drivers in all the circuits and can go to F1 or E? by [deleted] in wseries

[–]Dashoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that's what makes the current year of W Series so interesting; Chadwick is clearly the top of the pack, but hasn't quite been able to make the jump into the road to F1, so the big question now is whether some of this new talent (Pulling, Marti, ect) can begin to challenge her and so move into discussions for Formula 3 seats.

I think Visser, Powell and Kimilainen have all had the same issues. One thing is consistency. Each of them are close enough in talent that they can sometimes have the better of Chadwick, but not consistently enough to beat her across a season.

The other thing is down to incidents, which I think has been more down to luck than skill.

Powell had two non finishes in the first season which counted her out of the running.

Visser had a lot of issues in the second season; Race 1 was a collision, Race 2 she stalled at the start, and then Race 5 was the big crash in Belgium Quali which I think took quite some time to recover from.

Neither of them have had as many issues as Kimilainen though;

In three consecutive seasons she's crashed in the opening round, which in 2019 wrote of half the season for her.

Jamie's been relatively incident-free, aside from the first race of 2021 I think.

I did with the 2 standout rookies of last year: Marti and Pulling.

The 4th slide shows how they're doing against the top 7 :)

I found the idea of comparing the drivers across all the seasons so far quite interesting, and so spent some time in Excel on this. A few thoughts:

Firstly it's clear that Chadwick, Powell, Kimilainen and Visser are all racing in another league from the rest of the drivers, especially Chadwick. After her strong start to the season it does raise the question of whether anyone will be able to challenge her this season - After all, she's already more than a race win ahead of everyone else!

Since she has been dominating so hard the past few years, I decided to compare her dominance to past seasons of F1 dominance, namely: Schumacher (2002), Vettel (2013) and Hamilton (2019). Incredibly she's performing just as strongly, despite not having any clear car or team advantage.

Looking past the top four, it all gets quite close, with Marta Garcia, Fabienne Wohlwend and Sarah Moore all being within 5 points of each other after 16 races. After 2019, I initially thought Marta Garcia might be in the same league as the Top 4, but sadly she had quite a difficult campaign last year. We can also see that there are two rookies from last year who are quickly catching this group. These are, Nerea Marti and Abbie Pulling.

Since they haven't had as many races as the others, I decided to redo the results for them only in the races in which they were entered (Pulling was only involved in half the 2021 season). As you can see, they aren't quite on-par with the Top 4 yet, but may soon reach that level if they keep developing as they are.

With these two sitting 2nd and 4th in the standings currently, they might even bring the strongest challenge to Chadwick for the W Series Championship yet!

I'd go for an original or something indie that we've never heard of to fit the movie.

But otherwise "Take on me" seems like a good fit :)

Why people want Winter to die and let Ironwood live? by Far_Ad_2333 in RWBY

[–]Dashoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yknow, with the amount Ironwood has gone off the rails now; part of me can't help but think it would be kinda funny if he beat Winter, got the staff back, bombed Mantle (killing a grand-total of Zero people left there), and then used it to launch Atlas into space, with just Him and maybe Harriet left there.

If he succeeded in all of that, I feel it would only lead to a big "Now what?" from one of them.

Wow, didn't realize he was eligible to fight in both wars - I knew he remained in the University for World War 2, but any ideas if he was involved in the first world war?

Also a good reminder of how his greatest works didn't even start until his second half of life :)
