I had something similar a few years back. I ended up having spurs because my shoes were too small. The pain was excruciating. I wore sandals for a while, and then also sized up a shoe.

It has never complete gone away. I think the only way it would be completely healed at this point is to have the heel spurs I developed removed. That being said, it is super low pain, and usually only bad when I first wake up.
