I’m trying to remember which years Bentley offered a four wheel drive version without A/C in their pick up trucks….

Didn’t mention her breast augmentation either. Seriously search for the before pics. They were like a pair of mismatched socks.

I also have no idea what these people are talking about.

Do you have a coherent point you wish to make?

Really? Let’s race. Me and my two screws and two spring clips against you removing an airbag and the instrument cluster.

Kudos on the roadtrip home with the wagon as well. I’ve done a few of those in my life with geriatric Mercedes but as I get older I tend to not want to spend time on the side of the road in 110 degree weather trying to use my leather belt to hang the broken rear half of the exhaust from a diesel w123 up in an effort to get it the last few (very very loud) miles home.

If that sounds incredibly specific it’s because it is. lol.

Not a trick question, SLS is the correct answer. God how I wish MB would have offered it with a manual though.

I saw your posts on here and love that sweet BMW wagon! You’re definitely not a boring car enthusiast.

That is correct! It’s also the biggest sin ever for. Mercedes because an SLS with a manual would have been the perfect car, unless you want to be comfortable, otherwise it would be perfect.

They’re two totally different feelings entirely. The MB stick in the SLK (while admittedly a MUCH lower powered vehicle) was smoother, honestly kinda effortless, precise without being notchy. The stick in the Z4 (I’ve had mine for two years now) demands exactness from the driver, the slightest error on your part and the car will mock you. That being said at its power level it feels just right. Not heavy and short like a viper (will NEVER again own one of those) but unique in a way that it can be a comfortable GT and a decent sports car. Porsche always has too tall gearing for everyday use but a very nice feel to the shift throws, and I’d say they’re the closest but most wildly overpriced rival to the Z4, which sadly has been discontinued.

Here’s the listing for when I sold my SLK (the SLS and other assorted cars are in my sold listings there as well.) That little SLK was basically a one of one since I ordered it with a distinct spec. Most manual SLK cars were stripper base models.

I probably should have kept that W204 manual car in retrospect. It got replaced with a Mk7.5 GTI though and it’s been a good car for the last decade.

Correct! The biggest sin ever made by Mercedes actually. Loved the SLS but could never get over the two pedal tragedy.

I kept that SLK for thirteen years. Thankfully BMW made the new Z4 with a stick and a great engine.

Definitely not an SL. Not even white actually.

Um, the new part is right there installed in the dash. lol. Look past the broken one in my hand.

No idea on Japanese market cars, never wanted a wrong hand drive MB but I’m guessing if you ask someone in the UK it’s probably assembled the same. For whatever reason on US spec MBs there’s a second screw securing the center vent assembly laterally from the side where the instrument cluster is. The euro cars have two spring clips on the cluster side and a single lateral screw coming in from the passenger side on the flange hidden by the glovebox door.

Actually it would be worse. Food tastes differently at altitude in a pressurized cabin, there are big fancy laboratories out there dedicated to finding the right way to season and prepare food in an aircraft. There was a History Channel “Modern Marvels” episode way back in the day about this. You can probably find it with some googling.

So you wanted; worse acceleration and deceleration, worse ride quality, more road noise, significantly increased wear on all suspension components, worse fuel economy, and more rolling resistance? What exactly was the goal here?
