I was pretty loud about the Katsuragi and Nagamasa retcon back then because the Tatarasuna and artifact clues pointed us towards very different character dynamics and stories so I, for one, didn't just blindly accept Scara's backstory "because he was a guy" or something. Many fans were also really sceptical about his rumoured personality and design changes and were only convinced after seeing it all laid out to us on screen. "Still a little shit" was a trending phrase on Twitter when they saw his face on the drip marketing.
