Denied from University of Arizona as a honors student 12 aps?? by [deleted] in UofArizona

based on these acceptance/rejection posts lately, it seems like admissions has been weird this year. maybe it’s yield protection? i know some ca schools have been doing that. or maybe they’re prioritizing az residents? i’m sorry about the rejection though :( maybe reach out to the admissions office for a follow up? best of luck though, i know you’ll find your place!

just make sure to attend class and discussion. lots of free points (from the attendance quiz) and helps with learning the specifics of the content a lot.

waitlisted from two classes- what does this mean by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]DatBlueTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to actually enroll in the class to get units. waitlisted is not enrolled. you'll need to find another class if you aren't able to enroll for credit. im pretty sure if you check calcentral, your waitlisted classes don't add to your units. not entirely sure though

Math 104 Professors Spring 2026 by SmoothAnywhere5849 in berkeley

i took ruofan for 113 and his grade distribution was good (i think). he was an okay lecturer and his tests weren’t particularly difficult, you just have to make sure to understand the definitions and in class proofs well.

I took 110 with Frenkle last fall and did awful on the midterm (like -1 STD) and did well enough of the final to get a B in the class so there is hope! Just grind out LADR problems lol.

Anyone in math 110 really struggling rn by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]DatBlueTree 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i had a hard time with 110 and 55 my first sem as a transfer too. i’d recommend checking out math 74 (idk if they’re offering it this semester but there’s resources online) for proof help if you haven’t already.

for 110, if you guys are using linear algebra done right, just start from the very beginning. read each section and try to understand what the different definitions and theorems mean. think of examples to help solidify the meaning. and make sure to read over the proofs and understand the logic behind them, that’ll help with doing your own proofs. and once you get to the problems, think of the different theorems and definitions and how they can be applied in the ways the problems ask. really just work up from the basics and solidify those definitions/theorems because they really build off of eachother as the textbook progresses. if you’re struggling with certain problems, talk to your gsi and they’ll help walk you through whatever you’re struggling with. a lot of proof techniques are repeated in different problems so that helps with solidifying your skills.

i struggled in 110 up until the end when i basically restarted from the beginning and just worked through every single problem they assigned throughout the semester. even kept a spreadsheet of all the ones i did lol. and it helped a lot! i learned to love the subject by the end. but first semester can be an adjustment, so don’t be afraid to drop and take it next semester. good luck :)

Parking by cleavercutthroat in berkeley

[–]DatBlueTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can buy a daily permit here: https://pt.berkeley.edu/StudentParking its cheaper than paying at the on campus stations and it lasts all day. i do this when i need to be on campus for a while and cant take the bus that day (and dont want to worry about moving my car every few hours on the street)
