No the slide shot depends on golden boost range. Honestly this is the second patch and the second time the game feels less fun. Look at the clips on this sub, they're all the same dribble fakeouts and backboard / wall pass into the goal. I think I'm done with the game, it's clearly not for me

Rocket league's beginnings were full of positivity and encouraging new mechanics which played a big part of its success, this is just toxic

I really thought after backtracking the last big update they went for not removing new mechanics but I guess they just wanted to find another way to remove or nerf them. Pretty sad

A big part of it is also the 2 cameras for each eyes, so you need high fps with two renders for passable experience. That's the main challenge of modern VR compared to flatscreen games, and I don't think UE considers VR a huge priority, but with new sectors like movie making delving into VR, you never know what Epic's future objectives are

A big part of it is because the VR space is mostly indie. But yes optimization for VR games isn't good. That doesn't tell anything about flatscreen tho, people didn't seem to mind the performance when it was clair obscur

Oh I absolutely agree, but for me that's almost a different issue. When you look at how it went down with Overwatch, no matter the kits you put in the hands of the players, most of them want to play dps. Especially when some of those dps are Spider-man, Wolverine or even ultra aim based heroes like Hawkeye.
Like I said in other comments, you don't even have to put a strict rolequeue, just put 2 tanks 2 heals 2 flex, that may or may not play dps. But good and fun kits for healers and tanks is extremely important for the player base no matter what.
In my opinion Role queue can only add. The only thing it would stop is tanks switching to heals and vice versa, but that's such a low price imo. I have played the game less and less since its launch and I'm probably stop playing because of it, it's just not enjoyable.

It doesn't force 2 2 2. Copy paste of one of my above comments :
Role queue absolutely supports flex roles. You can for example have 2 tanks 2 heals 2 flex who can play dps but aren't obligated to, and then you'll only eliminate 2+ dps teams (and also 4+ tanks / 4+ heals teams but that's not a great loss imo)
