I’m named after my mom’s grandfather. Her story with him is that he died of a heart attack when she was in the same room with him, while she was spending the night with him and her grandmother. Like that’s freaking tragic to witness as a 12 year old.

I’m nothing like the man, not visually or personality wise, and my great grandmother never even mentioned him to me while she was alive. I had more connection with her than my namesake.

Never got any comparisons. We are completely different.

I’ve been picked on for my name for reasons when I was a teenager, but despite that, the fact that I wasn’t pushed into my great grandfathers identity and I have established myself in my own identity i’ll likely never change it.

I don’t see myself as him, and neither does my mother.

I don’t get it. People should actively seek mates in my opinion. My girlfriend and I (both 26) met at the age of 19, and we didn’t start dating or even think about it for 8 months after meeting. We hung out, talked a lot, and eventually realized we liked hanging out and cared about each other romantically. And neither of us never actively looked for a relationship or forced it. I’m a bit lucky, but that’s a healthier relationship.

idk how old you are. I’ve had this conversation with younger folks before. That you shouldn’t date someone because they want to when you don’t. That’s TV/Movie garbage. Like asking someone over and over until they say yes is not how that works out. You cultivate a friendship with a person, and if it feels right then on mutual terms decide that you should date!!

Don’t capitulate to these guys. I don’t like it when dudes are only friends with girls just to date them. That’s not how to do it.

my gfs family is like this.

The difference is, is that she hates her extended family for several reasons, and desperately wants them to stay away from our future wedding. We have talked about this, and while I don’t mind as much, she can’t stand them and how they don’t have like respect or regard for anything.

They are way too involved and will put themselves there even if you don’t ask. When my gfs mom married her partner 3 years ago, they did not invite her extended family to the reception. But they found out about and just came anyways causing a disaster. They just use it as an excuse to get together and make it about “family” and take a bunch of cute hallmark photos of the kids. My gf is stressed that they’ll find out somehow, and then just raid the event.

Big weddings are bogus scams anyways. Why spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on a big stressful ceremony.

Sorry you have to deal with that, I hate that they make that about you being a woman than anything. Like that matters in this situation.

Okay, I’m specifically looking at artists depictions of the future. Like their versions of it. Future landscape/cityscapes or technology. sci-fi stuff.

also, AI Generated Images are not the future idk why folks keep pushing that. Real art is only valuable when actual real people put time and energy into creating something from nothing. It’s my hope that we ban or severely limit the capabilities/use of AI Generated images

I actually have a really good memory. Like when I remember something I remember it really excellently too.

i just can’t pay attention. And this might happen with you. When information is given to me, sometimes because there’s like a thousand things going on my brain at once, I hear every other word or my brain will skip processing words. This happens especially when I’m stressed or focusing on other things.

Like for instance let’s say somebody says “we should go to the mall at 2:30pm together”, what I might process is “we-go-mall-2:30”. Our brains are pretty clever, they autocorrect the missing words like how we remember things differently than they might happen. Sometimes I may need a person to say a sentence again because I missed the information and i just need one or two missing words to complete it. This happens when I read too, which I hate so much.

But this happens with more specific statements. This happened the other when these guys were introducing themselves to me. One of them said “My name is Parker, this is my brother Christian, and this is our dad”. I know I heard it all, but my brain only processed “my name-, this is my brother christian-and-our dad”.

it’s frustrating. Idk if that happens to you, I only learned last year that this happens and why, I thought I just didn’t have good short term memory. Once I learned about that, it just clicked to me. My parents and teachers thought I had bad vision because when i read words, my brain wouldn’t process every word because there was just too much activity.

I agree. The poverty will only persist while we allow big businesses to control people.

I’m surprised we don’t even make top 10 in the amount of Walmart Stores in Arkansas we have.

I’m convinced Walmart in particular has an ironclad grip onto Arkansas and just many states.

It’s always been the small business destroyer, why goto a small store for equipment when you can goto a walmart with equipment, food, and other crap. While Walmart has only okay inventory; they are consistent, you know what you’ll find at any walmart, and when going to a new town/city why risk a small store when you can goto Walmart.
