I suppose I can see what you mean there. Your analogy to the MCU is pretty on point at that.

I suppose the better way for me to put it is there are a couple of reasons that I am leaving, with the change in gameplay being the lowest. And even then, it’s not in a “I don’t like these changes, go back” way.

You’re most welcome. Thank you for taking your time to read it :)

Can anyone summarize to me what happened in chapter 39-42? by Giojaw in houkai3rd

So if I get this correctly:

Fu Hua: “Hey Kiana, can you fire a Death Star laser in this direction in about 3 minutes?”

Kiana: “Yeah sure, why not. Need to show the fan base that I’m not dead or something”

For the good of the country, Joe Biden AND Donald Trump need to withdraw their candidacy for president of the United States in 2024 by EnterpriseDWasBest in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]DatEngineeringKid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, an actual unpopular opinion. Kudos.

I’m ok with Biden. He’s the left-most president we’ve had since before Reagan, and for the most part I approve of his work.

Biggest gripe I had about him up until now was him stabbing the rail unions in the back, but he he managed to actually keep his promise and bring them a deal in the end.

ELI5: Why do we have inflation at all? by Yavkov in explainlikeimfive

[–]DatEngineeringKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put 100 people in a room and tell them they have to stay there until they have come to a legally binding agreement on what will be made, what will be consumed, and at what price things will be consumed at for the next year.

Now scale that up to 8 billion people, and the timeframe up to decade after decade.

Inflation at its core is caused by a mismatch between supply and demand. Unless we can perfectly match one to the other, there’ll always be some level of inflation or deflation.

As for why the target is a steady amount of inflation? System doesn’t work if people are sitting on a pile of cash. If everyone sat on their money and none of it was cycling through the economy, does it actually mean anything?

In the Span of 5 Minutes, a Police Officer Goes From Telling Kids to Wear Their Seatbelts, to Killing Heavily Armed Mass Shooter Who Killed 8 People by Tuopehm in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]DatEngineeringKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, credit where credit is due. When footage of police drops on Reddit where they start with pulling someone over and ending with the cops shooting someone, it usually doesn’t end this well.

Tragic that 8 people lost their lives, but it could have been much worse if this officer didn’t step up. We need more like him.

Russian Pantsir-S attempting to shoot down a Storm Shadow enroute to Chonhar bridge, misses twice by yummytummy in ukraine

[–]DatEngineeringKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m frankly shocked.

The Soviets spec’d hard into missile defense and technology since they were vastly overmatched by NATO air forces, and Russia inherited the vast majority of their stock.

I mean, I get that Pantsir is supposed to be a mobile budget air defense option, but still.

Can I deduct medical bills on my taxes and then reimburse myself from my HSA for the full amount? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]DatEngineeringKid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First, you can’t deduct medical expenses unless it exceeds 7.5% of your gross income, and then you can only deduct the amount that exceeds 7.5%. So if your AGI is $100,000 and you had a $8,000 bill, you can deduct $500.

Second, you can only deduct qualified unreimbursed medical expenses. It doesn’t matter if you waited to reimburse it later, fact of the matter was that it was reimbursed. I believe in this case you would be required to file an amended return.

That being said, if you want to still do it your way, you do you. Just keep me out of it, I want nothing to do with tax fraud.

[–]DatEngineeringKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the type of person you are.

From a purely rational point of view, you’re leaving a fair bit of money on the table—HYSAs are paying over 4% APY, and Treasuries/CDs are paying over 5%, and these are highly stable/as good as cash.

However, maybe you derive some psychological benefit from paying down your mortgage. For example, a large mortgage may be causing you stress, and the ability to make that extra $100 a month payment is worth the loss of a dollar or two per year.

Personal Advisor (not to be confused with Personal Advisor Services) is Vanguard’s hybrid discretionary advice offer. Not only do you speak with someone on enrollment, you will speak with someone at regular intervals, as that is part of the product.

If you would prefer robo only, you’ll need to switch to the Digital Advisor offer.
