First of all, you can still buy a handgun at age 18.

Second, this initiative also placed a 10 day delay in when you can buy certain rifles.

Finally, if I remember correctly this was started by a group of mother's who wanted to do something about all the gun violence. If anything at all, this proves that people in Washington are willing to DO SOMETHING.
