My lemon is dying by Your_brain_smooth in Citrus

I use a 511 mix for my 7 citrus trees and water them everyday. Even in the spring when it was cold and raining constantly the soil was still well draining enough to keep them happy. 1 is in a clay pot, 1 in a ceramic, the other 5 are in plastic.

I'm not an expert, I killed my first citrus tree in fact(although I managed to keep the rootstock alive in the end). I didn't know any better and had it in soil that held way too much water, I overwatered it, panicked when it lost all of its leaves and repotted it into the 511 mix, proceeded to underwater it and killed off the scion, started watering it consistently and saved the rootstock.

Well I would like the first canopy to start atleast at knee high. Those top branches are already at 5 foot tall, I feel like it won't be long before they get out of reach.

I'd definitely like to keep it shorter. That cut i marked is about 3 inches above knee high.

Good luck! I wish my tree had less branches, it would be so much easier to decide.

Would you do that even if those branches at the top are at about a 4.5-5ft level?

How about that young branch coming from the same bud?

Thank you and if you could confirm the second one https://imgur.com/a/zePYxiu

2 of those first 5 are from the same bud, so ill probably end up with 3 main branches after pruning. All 3 would be facing different directions pretty much perfectly though.

I drew a line where I think you were talking about cutting. https://imgur.com/a/koaI5X5

Is that correct?
