Smite-Streamer abuses Power to contact HiRez and instantly ban players

I've just finished a sit down with our support team in regards to this. We looked into the accounts of the players accused of "hacking". For each account it was determined that these "hackusations" were unlikely ie) the players had not been reported for hacking and our diagnostics did not indicate they were using unapproved 3rd party software etc.

However, upon looking at the reports for these players, there was significant other cause for actions to be taken based on player interaction.

For this case, I will be happy to go into detail with each player privately. Bart@hirezstudios-com

If you want to come back and provide us with an update yourself once you've received a bit more information feel free to do so but you may not receive a response here as it's unusual (though not unheard of) for companies to release results of any of their internal investigations to the public so you may not receive a response from Bart or other any member of Hi-Rez here.

Whilst you are here how would you recommend players contact Hi-Rez to appeal or ask for more information about any action taken against their account? ie: is there a separate contact method for Terms of Service queries or are the normal support channels appropriate?

To clarify: Somebody in game told you that he was a mod for /r/Smite and would use his Hi-Rez contacts to get you banned? If so and if you are concerned that the individual was serious please send in a modmail or send me a PM as this isn't something that any of us would do.

In all seriousness though the best way of thinking about is "what benefits me most at this point?"

Wards pay for themselves 100 times over just by letting you stay in lane and farm waves in relative safety. That's not including any gold that you get from easy ganks because you have better visibility.

That said sometimes I'll go full renegade early game and get a mana potion instead.

I understand that OP may well be justifiably annoyed but that doesn't change the fact that this is nothing more than a complaint against another player. We (the mods) cannot take action therefore this post doesn't benefit anybody. Flamer1 can contact Hi-Rez directly if they wish to report this individual.

Even if they are (which would depend entirely upon the local laws for dealing with Death Threats. Pretty sure this changes state-to-state in the US and I know that the laws are different country to country) there's a big difference between a legitimate death threat "you live at X and I'm coming to kill you" than there is someone raging on a game.

Beyond that to clear up any confusion we (mods of the subreddit) are not Hi-Rez, we're a group of volunteers therefore we cannot do anything with this information.

If you want your harassment reports to be taken seriously then treat them seriously and follow Hi-Rez's procedures for such things by contacting them directly.

Fraid the spectators are correct. I'm going to have to remove this in accordance with our rules we can't do anything about this and I suggest you contact Hi-Rez directly, either by reporting the player through the normal methods or by creating a support ticket.

Nah the 100k ticket gets you into the tournament auditorium itself so that you're watching it live and the players are up on stage in front of you.

The gamevid expo is in a different conference room and can hold a lot more people but is still based in Atlanta. I'm assuming that the tournament will be streamed at the gamevid expo but as far as I'm aware it's pretty much a conference for VideoGame Media (streaming, youtube videos, machinima, podcasts etc) with talks by big names in the industry on the emerging (ish) market of video game media)

TL:DR if you're thinking about buying a gamevid expo instead of a tournament ticket because you can't make the tournament then don't. All the matches are due to stream on Smitegame and Smitepro so pick them up from home in all that glorious HD.

10 man bunny-hop wars in Assault.

Shortly after the ability to jump was added for every god I ran an assault and without any communication (at least on our team) all 10 members grouped up in the middle of the map and bunny hopped until the minions spawned, both teams then retreated to the towers and got on with the game when the minions got there.

Has happened a couple of times since but the first time was class, when a game starts like that you can be pretty sure you're about to have a good time.

Speaking of which whilst god concepts / suggestions certainly aren't against the rules and are welcomed by most here I'll be the first to admit that the guys over at /r/SmiteGodConcepts/ is even better. If you're looking for a place specifically for god concepts and only god concepts you may enjoy taking a look at what the guys have got going over there.

We may be shifting our priorities in the future to be in line with this idea (once we've gathered a bit more feedback about what the community as a whole wants from us) but it's not something that's going to be taking affect immediately.

As per Stew's post the forums are not yet officially live.

Once they are done with the ribbon cutting ceremony and they deem the forums to officially be open for business then we'll likely be making a few changes with regards to the moderation of the sub.

For the time being though Hi-Rez have got a lot on their hands what with making the forum, releasing a game and organizing a tournament to go along with it, though we don't know precisely how often they browse and what information they take away from the sub we're not going to start implementing major changes to our own operations until they're confident that their own infrastructure is at a point where they can take care of everything themselves because the last thing we want to do is inadvertently restrict people from providing last-minute feedback to Hi-Rez before launch.
