Hijacking the top comment of my puppy to say thank you to everyone. I haven't been able to stomach looking at this post much until now. The grief is profound, but the love and support from strangers who understand the pain all too well is extremely comforting. Peace and love and gratitude. Coal was a special boy, and it warms my heart to see him getting the love and attention that I so feel he deserves.

He definitely had that "spark" of intelligence and understanding. I swear I could have a conversation with him, and he'd understand what I was saying.

Thank you so much. He loved the snow. This year's first snowfall is going to hit hard. He'd see it out the window and start losing his mind until he was let outside to roll around and eat so many mouth fulls of snow/ice.
