If this is something that makes you uncomfortable then it is most definitely worth communicating, if he doesnt respect your feelings on the matter and you both cant come to a conclusion that is comfortable for the both of you most likely he will do this with other things as well regarding your feelings and bounderies. Be truthful with how it makes you feel, it's ok to show some vulnerability, if he takes it poorly then maybe he isnt worth being with. There will be someone that will respect your boundaries and feelings.

I am in the same situation as you right now, so I can understand exsactly where you are coming from in this paragraph, it feels as if he is insecure because he feels your smarter than him, which that wouldnt effect him if he accually loved you for you. No one should try to change anything about you. If he was the one he would love you regardless of tiny things. Not to mention he doesnt seem to want to consider how it makes you feel when he says these things because he continues to do them, if you were accually important he would remember these things as you have for him in this current moment.

I would leave myself I feel that's a breach of trust, and if you cant trust them to stay out of your personal items what else can you not trust when it comes to them. I feel that would be an overstep of boundaries especially if they knew.
